AP: Unions Worry 2020 Democrats Ignoring ‘Kitchen-Table Economics’ for Divisive Far-Left Issues

My union relative are all on the Trump train.

Many of them have seen that the Dems no longer even pretend to care about the working class.

They're absolutely right, but it's not the candidates talking about the Senate filibuster and the composition of the Supreme Court that turns otherwise reliable Democrat voters off. It's the trans/gay agenda, the hatred of everything about their own country, and importing millions of unskilled workers to take their jobs, but then, union organizers can't talk about that. Even mentioning that stuff is transphobic, jingoistic, homophobic, racist and xenophobic, so they focus on stuff the candidates barely even mention.

I couldn’t understand the Firemen’s union supporting Joe Biden. I know a lot of Firemen and they are mostly conservative and I don’t know why their union always goes for the Dems. Why don’t the conservative firman throw a fit? They pay a lot of money in union dues. They should have a say where that money goes.

Union brass don't rep the membership. They take the dues by force ffs.

They are so focused in dismantling destroying the country they forgot they are a political party elected to bring policy for the people

I have never dealt with unions down hear in the south but they sound like a pain in the ass for everyone involved. Except for the Union guy at the top.

Yea, there are #Walkaway people of the left. But if as many of them existed as there should be, America wouldn't be having this discussion today. People of the sociopolitical right would have a far easier time making people realize that they, not liberals, are the ones who are truly sane and humane.

I went to see Jon Lovitz in upstate NY this past weekend. He asked the crowd who supported Hillary for president and just about everyone booed. He then asked who would support Bernie Sanders, and surprisingly, what sounded like a quarter of the crowd cheered. He then asked who would vote for Trump and the place erupted. I was surprised with the results and he then went on to slam millennial's throughout the show.

I hope the Dems continue to do nothing but please illegals, lowlifes, and millennials.

In the Trades they run EXCELLENT training and certification programs, with various levels of certifications (at least here in the Midwest). If as an employer in the Trades you hire a union CERTIFIED skilled worker you KNOW he/she is going to be able to do the job, QUICKLY, unsupervised and with NO screw ups!! The Trades Unions will NOT give their seal of approval via their Certification process to an incompetent or lazy worker. Yep it's a bit more $$$ to hire, but for scaling up for a big project it makes getting qualified people EASY without having to staff a huge Human Resource Dept (and then test test test potential employees).

For industrial unions it is a mixed bag, though MUCH better than it used to be. Featherbedding by union workers is a thing of past, at least in this part of the country. Ditto wrt "Work Rules" - The RIGID "Work Rules" of old are OUT!! FLEXIBLE "Work Rules" are now the norm, NOT the exception, which is a HUGE biggie with industrial plants - even more so than pay scales. With the competition from China the Union workers KNOW they have to help the company make money, not just pay them money, or the company will either move it's own production to China or just go broke and shut down.

Now for unionized government workers ... well those types can be POS's, and to top it off being in the union makes it almost impossible to fire them. Bad news all the way around for those types "Union" workers.

I know around here employers tell me that generally the output per worker for a Union worker is enough higher than for the non-union Joe that their cost basis to get the job done or product out the door generally favors the Union worker - yep, even in industrial plants even though the Union worker is getting paid more/hr. The non-union types generally have either lower skill levels, lower motivation, or just aren't all that bright compared to their union counterparts.

Each industry is different though ... and each region of the country is probably different too.

Suddenly the Dems are all being honest about their radical Leftist policies. I can't figure it out. Do they think enough of the country agrees with them and they can finally say what they really believe? I know there are more Leftist in the country today thanks to our indoctrination centers (schools/universities.) But the real Leftists are still a very small percentage of the population. Probably less than 20%. Yet all of these Dems are running on very far Leftist platforms. Do they think they can go back to the center when the General Election comes?

For various reasons, lots of trends may gravitate towards being either good or bad. Golf is in, golf is out. Good music is in, good music is out. Small cars are in, SUVs are out. SUVs are in, small cars are out. TV shows are in, TV shows are out.

In the political world, the sociopolitical left has gone from soft liberal to flaming liberal. It has gone from self-controlled liberalism to wild-and-crazy liberalism. It has gone from semi-irrational and semi-inhumane to fully irrational and fully inhumane.
