Years ago, my friend living near Dearborn, said that the nurses in Dearborn hospitals have to turn patients' beds toward Mecca so the patients could pray several times a day! This was during the Obama administration. She's a retired nurse who knew nurses working there.

I was in Amsterdam in the 90s.

One day I was walking on the street that runs in front of the train station (Central Station). There were always lots of people on the streets, mostly all white people, and lots of them. There seemed to be a code of public behavior where you went about your business giving space to the others.

Well that day there were lots of people on the streets as usual, and all of a sudden a black man on the street flew into a rage and he was cussing, then he started kicking a parked car. It was like everyone stopped dead in their tracks, and looked upon the scene with total horror.

That kind of public display of rage was just so out of the ordinary in that polite society. People from all directions who witnessed it appeared to be in shock.

There were a handful of Africans and Surinamese at that time, there were a few Morrocans and Turks too. My then husband and I had some experience with Morrocan pickpockets who got our passports and all legal documents as we needed to bring those to set up utilities. A gang intercepted and cleverly swiped the bag containing all the documents.

We went to the police and told them what happened and they told us there were gangs of Morrocan pickpockets who would often sell stolen passports to some Peruvian gangs for lots of money. They didn't tell us what the Peruvian gangs did with the passports...anyway we had to get all that stuff replaced.

Before we moved back, one day I took my camera (this was before cell phones) and took a bunch of pictures on the streets of Amsterdam with all the people in the background. The vast majority of the people were white Dutch people, with only a small number of blacks and Arabs, and an even smaller number of Peruvians. I never did figure out how or why the Peruvians were there.

I guess incidents like the black guy raging in public are lots more common now.

This is all going to get much worse.

Gangs are out of control here in the states also. Plus the cops are non existent. I m on the road about 2 hours a day mostly on the same route but a lot of new routes and no cops in sight.

As for the freeways here in Dallas Ft Worth the cops have given up and its left the criminals. When I asked numerous cops why they did not patrol the freeways they all said it was too dangerous!

But then they are accused of racism when they do.
