The tidepools are now barren you lying fuck when in past years they have been tourist attractions in their own right given how teeming they were with starfish and urchins. Starfish are all dying, the tidepools no longer teem with life - it's so very sad out there - a few years ago at very low tide, I would walk distances on warm sand to the furthest-out tide pool and wade in the water. One year I picked up literal bucketsful of sand dollars. Now it all looks so sad. Right after Fukushima all was normal, except that we were not warned about the very worst radiation, cesium, having come right here to us, even though it was known. After that, life began disappearing. Now it's sad. Hurts me to my heart to see my ocean, my beaches, in such trouble. Our whale pods are dying faster than ever before, mostly because of inadequate salmon which is their main diet. When the oceans die, so do we. Look how well we have done, people, with pollution! Pollution of every kind. Even the tiniest sea creatures have guts full of plastic pieces. Aren't we proud? By the way, we don't "pick up oysters and put them in our bags" because oysters have to be shucked right on the beach and the shells left for another oyster seed to adopt. I have them from spawn to fully-grown in bags... on the beach, which are tied down and only accessible during low tides. Same with my clam bags. I just shared ~30 oysters with family last night over a bbq.. u r a clown... |
