Opioids do not provide that much relief, plus they come with major baggage, namely destroying your liver, stomach, and immune system, and thus, your life. And good luck getting off them. Clearly, big pharma is full of sh!t, their pills' many lethal side effects are their ONLY effects. Notice how big pharma NEVER, EVER makes any attempt to mitigate all these side effects, they are purposely engineered into the pills so you go back for more pills for those side effects, and so on for THOSE new side effects. This gives them the most profit off the public's misery. My pain management doctor is onto this and showed me how cannabis, heat, ice, and even acupuncture, etc, are other options that ALWAYS outperform opioids without the baggage and liver destruction.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77561180 Yes. They do work but nothing works if you don’t switch up your routine.
I have a pain disorder that I don’t take drugs for. Tried gabapintin (however it’s spelled) and it was great for my brain but did nothing for pain levels and made me super angry. It was awful.
Lyrica was fun but only worked for a few months and not all that well. I think being high just kept my mind elsewhere.
Now let’s add that my neck complete seizes up ... about once a week. It then pulls all the muscles from my face and head. Like I need more pain. This one is just awful. I can take a muscle relaxer at bed time to help it release but if I take one dose of codiene it not only relieves the pain, but I can function instead of wasting a day on the couch.
Except now, as I type this, I realize I don’t consider it wasted time. Now I own my time and if I have to rest, I will rest.
But don’t say opioids don’t work. It is person to person... drugs are not a one size fits all. They never were. And greed just compounds the issue.
