I was robbed at gun point in Chicago and the police were super non chalant about it. They didn't give a fuck. They didn't even know what jurisdiction I was in. They sent 3 different squad cars and each one was like "oh, this is 14th precinct." next squad car arrives: "oh, this is precinct 12." Finally some old Polish lady chicago cop came, listened to my story and suggested I should consider moving (which I did). 3 months later I get a voucemail from a detective saying they weren't investigating any further (as if they ever investigated anything, lol).
