I just got hit with a diagnosis of RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS. The meds I take are not available at any pharmacy. I have to go to a pharmacist that is willing to buy them without the feeling the DEA will cuff him and be hauled into jail. Thank God this man does this for me or it'll be shotgun time. There is no way I can function a normal life without these narcotic painkillers. I know it's coming that they take them all off the market with the government we have now. I understand the importance of regulation but it really has come to the point where people are committing suicide because they can't handle their pain. Quoting: Only Me Chronic pain is depressing enough without having to be treated like a junkie when asking for relief. I have rheumatoid arthritis and systemic morphea, and I've had 2 brain surgeries for chiari malformation. I take tramadol and I have to see the doctor every 3 months or they won't fill it. I had to sign a contract agreeing to random pill counts, surprise drug tests, and some other things I don't remember. I never ask for refills early. I never take more than I'm supposed to, even thought tramadol alone only takes the edge off. And yet, I go to the pharmacy and one girl there always gives me a weird look. One time she said she wouldn't fill it because it was too early and I had to pull out my phone and log into their app to show her it was 5 days past the refill date because she wouldn't even pull it up in her computer. She simply didn't believe me until I showed her myself. And I've never given any indication of having problems with the medication. She just assumed it. So I hope they listened to you, OP, but I doubt they did, sadly. This happens way to often. That’s the point. They don’t get it nor understand.. I just wanted them to know that there other victims as well and to keep that in mind. Most of them cast a wide net DooobieDooobieDoooooooo "Beware of the Penguins." |

How about going after them? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77203973 Their solution for this is.... more opiates. They are suboxone and bupes, methadone if you're old school. This is what they are pushing everyone into, even chronic pain patients. A freaking nightmare to detox from, I have helped many a young person get free from this crap. There is no informed consent with these drugs, people get put on them and then sadly find out they are in for months of withdrawal if they want to stop them. By then it is too late. Quoting: Halfbreedgal 69638656 Get out of Alabama if you can. The state is run by ignorant rednecks that think holistic doctors, herbalists and acupuncturists are evil foreign heathens and have probably run any they had before out of the state. Medicaid there is unlikely to cover any natural treatments because the State Legislature gets to determine how those federal funds are used, not the feds. If you're not too far from a state line, you might be able to use that Medicaid in another state that has a better set of options simply by explaining to Human Services that you cannot get any medical help where you live now. It is definitely worth a phone call to find out. It's odd that your sons have the same disabilities! If that can be proven by medical records as a genetic propensity, it might speed up disability for you. You're going to have to lawyer up to get it anyway; even your Alabama phonebook is going to have pages of lawyers that specialize in that. The lawyer will get his or her fee out of the larger sum you get when your payments start, or out of the settlement if you file a lawsuit - it seems to me you have a reasonable case for one. I'm not laughing at this person's pain at all, not laughing at your comment either, just how truthful your comment is. Get out of Alabama. My ex was from Alabama. I lived in Alabama for 13 years. Just find a "good" lawyer, and yes there are literally pages of them in the phone book, who can send you to one of their Dr's.. a good doctor, who has prior dealings with disability cases..follow what they say, take what they give you, dont miss any appointments and easy peasy...six months later, boom. Everybody gets paid. But God forbid, don't...dont ever ask for a chiropractor or physical therapy or any alternatives to actually get better...you need...to go...to a pain clinic... everybody gets paid that way...eventhough you are the only one paying the price..most reasonable truthful cases for help are overlooked in Alabama. They're not looking for those only wanting to legitimately feel less pain for now and may eventually move on to alternative methods..they need a steady payroll..I would imagine it is like that now in a lot of places...just had a major sting in my current state of KY and took down 4 Dr's.. I don't think they were "helping" anybody with their Pain when they dispensed over a million pills. Big Pharma AND the State Regulators, including State Medical Licensing Boards and the State Pharmacy Regulators brought this crisis on themselves. Big Pharma just wanted to SELL SELL SELL more and more pills and the State Regulators did NOT want to regulate the Pharmacies operating under their jurisdiction to shut down those sales efforts. Medical Licensing Boards did NOT want to do any supervision of Doctors, and what little they did when they would see something that stunk to high heaven they would just close their Eyes, Ears, Mouths. THIS behavior by Medical Licensing Boards is EXACTLY WHAT DOCTORS HAVE WANTED ... and they managed to GET WHAT THEY WANTED. The death toll is unbelievable ... which is why the Federal Government is finally doing what it should have started doing 15 when the problem first raised it's ugly head and the States REFUESED to do their jobs. Don't get upset at the DEA now for checking pharmacies. Don't blame the FDA for now restricting Doctors. BOTH of those groups FAILED to self regulate, the States REFUSED to regulate, and as a result several hundred thousand people are NOW DEAD!! Anonymous Coward User ID: 77222658 United States 04/19/2019 10:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | annnnd my last comment killed this? So here is the thing. awhile ago I saw some really sad stuff on Twitter. It was from pain patients. They were talking about mass suicides and new drug laws that were really bad for them. THEY BLAME "drug addicts". They INSIST that THEY are not, and in fact they hate "drug addicts" because the addicts made it hard for them to get their "medication". I got into it a little with them. I have NEVER had so many replies in years on twitter. This link is a long read but the advice to commit suicide happens umpteen times in it more after you get into it, it is just NUTS. So they would rather kill themselves because of pain than join their drug addict enemies and slurp down a little methadone? It just does not make any sense to me. Maybe it is pharma-bots making this stuff up I don't know, but I do know if it were me and my legit pain med was cut off I would call myself a drug addict in a heartbeat if it meant relief from pain. |
