I admit I’m no expert on UBI, haven’t looked into it, but the money stays in the US, right? It circulates and feeds the economy. It’s not like money is being destroyed.

I've been automating people out of jobs for 20 years.

I came to the same conclusions as he did after a few years of watching the software I was creating "streamline business processes" and "create efficiencies" ... most of the companies I worked at shrank their workforces by 20 to 40% (my last company went from 1500 employees to 300) in the years I was working on these projects.

It wasn't because we were offshoring those jobs, or because illegal immigrants were taking them (illegal immigrants aren't accounting majors or loan processors or operations managers).

And I'm just SQL/.Net/BI developer. I don't make AI or manufacturing automation or logistics software ... I make applications that don't eliminate job titles, but they enable one employee to do the work of 3 or 4.

He's 100% correct about the real problem, and when you ruminate on that long enough ... he has the correct solution.

We have accomplished so, so much ... we've gotten so much out of our hard work since the industrial revolution. It's going to eat us alive unless we realize that this has been the goal all along (less toil, more leisure) and remove the stigma of "unemployment".

This is an environment where there truly is not enough good, rewarding work to go around in a lot of places ... because we worked ourselves out of work. There's no shame in that and we should all be better off for it not worse!

Well Gosh. All you have to do is put in 15% of your earnings for a lifetime and then, you too, can get in on this pathetic socialism and maybe get a 1 or a 2% raise from time to time. I know very little about UBI at this point. I haven’t visited Yang’s website or even listened to the Joe Rogan interview yet. But i think i get the gist of UBI and you are doing a feeble job opposing it.
