I’m kind of torn on the issue. I agree we could print our money but I could only imagine what further damage Obozo could have done to America if his administration had control of the Treasury department.
We have to find a better way, no doubt.

I think have an interest free state currency that treasury prints is better than allowing banks to manufacture money from unsecured loans.

But it would lose value quickly, the reason our current currency doesn't lose value immediately due to all the debt they've issued is because it can flow into asset prices and we get these monster bubbles like we have now.

What the government should do is issue the currency out into the economy, like fixed rate 2% loans and then provide services which require that currency for purchase.

Probably the best bet now would be power. The government needs to monopolize a very high energy density power source, then sell the power in the state currency it prints. That would prevent the currency from losing it's value too quickly.

The beauty of a gold backed currency is it forces the politicians to live within their means. Audit the fed. and watch the fireworks.

The Executive Branch does have control of the Treasury Department. The secret service is part of the Treasury Department.

The problem is they have given control of our money to a bunch of Bankers. The Federal Reserve is a private corporation.

The solution is simple. Money is gold and silver issued by the government, it could also be power or some other kind of measureable, fungible non-perishable item of value. Credit can be created by governments, individuals or business who wish to enter into contracts between each other for present or future delivery of money.
