World War 3: UK CONFRONTS Russia by sending warship to Black Sea
THE UK has deployed a warship to the Black Sea in a move that could risk infuriating Russia, as NATO continues plans to increase military activity in the region.

PUBLISHED: 20:16, Sun, Apr 21, 2019UPDATED: 20:26, Sun, Apr 21, 2019

The British Royal Navy's HMS Echo entered the Black Sea on Sunday in a freedom of navigation manoeuvre, authorities said. The vessel, armed with 20mm cannons and 7.62mm guns, is allowed to remain in the Black Sea for 21 days, according to the Montreux Treaty. Earlier this month, NATO countries agreed to step up activity and increase the scale of exercises conducted in the Black Sea. Five NATO ships took part in Sea Shield 2019, an annual Romanian-led naval exercise in the Black Sea, causing tensions to escalate between neighbouring country Russia.

The US sent the Destroyer Ross the other day, by the way.

They are both there.

There are two NATO warships in the Agean and one at Izmir in position to enter the Black Sea at any time.

Black sea is British

During the 11th century, the area was overrun and controlled by nomads from the Eurasian steppe, led by the Cumans. Later that century, the Byzantine emperor Ἀλέξιος Κομνηνός Alexios I Komnenos (r. 1081–1118) was approached by Anglo-Saxon refugees, who had left England following the Norman conquest. Alexios offered land to these refugees in Thema Khersonos if they could recapture it from the nomads and there is contemporaneous evidence that a Byzantine-English colony was subsequently founded. For example, medieval nautical charts mention place names on the Kuban coast with possible English origins, including a port (located within or near the future site of Novorossiysk) known as Susaco (or Susacho) – a name that may have been derived from Sussex.

So it's not confronting - it's allowed there for 21 days.

Talk about about fake doom...

At this point I hope Russia and China completely annihilate "the west". We are no longer fit to lead the world. Europe especially needs put out of its misery.

It is just political game.

All Nato ships in the Black See are siting ducks. Nothing will happen.

How exactly does that 21 day rule work? Can ships from the same country just get changed out to a different ships every 21 days and still be in accordance with the agreement? If so, the Montreux Treaty sounds like it's pretty much functionally meaningless.

Plenty of Russian warships sail through the English channel only a few miles from the shore of the UK all the time.

Usually bellowing out thick black smoke as they chug chug along.
