My wife used to get ECT.

It brought her out of a catatonic state twice when everything else like medication was not working.

She lost most of her memories. She doesn't even remember our wedding.

I don't like it but if she went catatonic again, i would allow it again.

So that being said. ECT SUCKS and should not be used unless everything else has failed.

But saying it offers zero health benefits is not true.
