'Strip off the old personality with it's practices"...... does this really require helping power from the Holy Spirit?

I've listened to and read hundreds of testimonies of folks. To me, it's clear that God and His Son deal with each person individually, but yet there appear to be a few general / common "themes".

1. People who hit "rock bottom", and "cry out" to either the Father or His Son. Many, though not all, then have some type of an immediate "event", and feel a "change" within themselves.

2. People who accepted Jesus at a relatively young age, only to spend the next several years "living in the world". They "believe" but yet do not pray, give thanks, read the Bible etc... At some point they are "re-engaged" / "re-awoken" / "recalled" by either the Father or Jesus. I am in this group.

3. People who grew up and lived in a "secular" frame of mind but yet, after "seeking" / searching, have found God. J Warner Wallace and Lee Strobel are popular examples of these folks.

4. Hebrew & Muslim folks who believed in God but had not accepted that He had sent His only begotten Son to earth 2000 years ago. Many of these folks get an "appearance" / direct interaction by Jesus. Obviously, Saul / Paul from the New Testament is the most widely known of these folks.

5. Lastly, there are some folks who have been outwardly defiant - denying that no God exists, yet through a series of events, end up becoming Believers.

Maybe.

6. Look into the eyes of an enlightened master and have a life changing experience of divine love.

An enlightened master?

You haven’t heard of the long spiritual history of India?

You mean like Gandhi, yes he was truly a great man. It will be great to have him back in the resurrection.

Ironically...I've never pondered such things as a list.

As soon as I finished reading your post, everything just "came into focus" and I was compelled to post it.

And I just realized that if you examine the New Testament, there are some folks in there that fit the above list.

The ONLY WAY we are Born-Again, Renewed in life is Through Surrender Unto The Father. "...No man Cometh Unto The Father but BY ME!" John 14:6


Two verses in Ezekiel 36 form Father's Witness of The Born-Again Life:
26. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

There's no doing this yourself and neither God the Holy Spirit or Christ Jesus can "help" you personally accomplish your surrender. Accepting Christ isn't The WAY, and nobody can Bring You Unto The Father...


Do you KNOW WHO Christ Jesus IS?

Can you Trust God The Father with all you are and all you ever will be? Can you Take Action and Tell HIM So?

Giving HIM your life and pledging to accept HIS Will for you is how we surrender self... This is the dying unto self and being brought into HIS Accord. Surrender IS The Way Unto Being Made A Partaker Of HIS Holiness and In HIS Victory.

Not really any direct Witness from St. Paul or anyone other than Jesus about Being Born-Again.... "Marvel not that I Say Unto You: Ye MUST Be Born-Again!" John 3:7

There is no halfway in Coming Unto The Father.

It's ALL Witnessed in Matt 22:1-14 "The Kingdom Of Heaven is like unto a certain King who made a Wedding Feast for HIS Son."

It's ALL About Answering God's Call and Being Born-Again...
Your Born-Again Heart IS Your Wedding Garment...


"For many were Called, but few are Chosen!" Matt 22:14

It is they who Elected-Chose To Give Father their lives who Answer HIS Call... In Matt 22:21-24, Jesus Refers To Them as The Very Elect...


God The Holy Spirit Dwells Within ALL Who've Come Unto The Father....
