I have a Chinese friend who is one of the major buyers of all types of recycled materials going into China for the last twenty years.The Chinese have metal recycling centers here, not a lot, but they have bought our scrap metals like crazy until recently. The Chinese recycling centers are concentrating on cell phone towers right now. They are interested in the copper wires and the metals in the dishes along with some of the circuit boards. The copper wires are as thick as your wrist and run from an equipment shack to the top of the tower. They do not really give a shit about common metals. My son in law works on cell phone towers for a living. They, the phone companies, are replacing cell phone tower equipment all over the place. My Chinese friend is just yawning over this news.
