The shape is simply the relationship between the sculptor(consciousness of intent) and the sculpture(perceived consciousness of the intendent).

An observation at arms length. A way to manufacture plausible deniability by and through the projection of failure. It depends on what you mean? Do you mean we are fixed...neutered...somehow inauthentic or do you mean that despite all our thoughts to the contrary that we are capable of impossible things? We are what we pretend to be. So, carefully consider what you pretend to be. Sorry, I had to interject a Vonnegutism.
