Yup the prices are retarded currently. Just got a new Nissan rogue after my past two jeeps shit at 80,000 fucking miles. My first jeep circa 1999 lasted 200,000 before finally cracking. The Nissan was affordable for me at my current level of income but at the end of the day its just another rape to seperate me from my ability to really save. I have had a beater or two but with my line of work if shit breaks I am fucked so I tend to buy brand new.

New cars and new houses, for the rich or stupid.

You cannot have high housing prices, high food cost and low wages and high healthcare costs and a consumer economy at the same time, the math does not work.

Smaller payments over a longer period of time only worsens the situation, making life time debt slaves out of people.

They did the same thing with housing.

The solution should be to get rid of the rentier class economy and prices would come down.

You do not have 100,000 to pay for that education you do not get it. You do not have 30,000 for that new car, you do not get it.

Get rid of usury and theft.

We have centralized economies, not capitalism.
The fed raising or lowering interest rates, bailing out the banks, welfare for corporations is central control.

It has more to with what the suppliers are willing to build.
There is a lot more profit in building a fully loaded truck over a geo metro or a mansion over a tiny home.

When my parents got their 2008 Ford Fusion back in 2010 they got royally screwed for being poor people. The lending company gave them the money for the car of course, but at slightly more a month than the actual car payments were. So they were paying a crap load of money a month and what's worse is their credit scores never really improved whatsoever. It took them till two or three years ago before they managed to fully pay off their car, and even then getting the title for their car was difficult to the point they almost had to hire a lawyer.

Dad used to say: If you can't pay it cash ...you still don't deserve it.

I believe they over produce cars through June-August before shutting down most plants for retooling and maintenance. So some excess inventory is to be expected and will burn off by the end of the year.

Would suck to have an unpredicted slow-down in sales about the same time though.

a millenial i know just graduated from college(health science degree...wtf?) and thinks he is all that. His mom BOUGHT him a car for like 12k used-2014 nissan altima and he never takes care of it. So it seems he has bought a 2019 camaro(basic model) for like 30k. he tells me his payments a month are 5-600.00!!!!!!!!!!!! insurance is like 150 a month. his rent for a studio apt is about 1500 total.
Says he is working as a personal trainer somewhere but i know trainers that have been working for years that dont make much $$ in this economy. I ask him where his mome car is she bought him and he says he uses it for day to day driving and uses the camero for his dates and to look cool times. 21 yrs old and strapped with that much payment out of college?? how and why are what i ask and he just acts like he is all cool and rich.Its so wierd.I mean why not return the moms car so she can maybe sell to recoup some $$$-i mean she is paying registaration and insurance on it so i find it pretty rude of the kid and he is a tool.
