They look like the kind of houses you would see in low class America in a barrio or ghetto. I do tend to agree with the OP and his comments. The Youtube videographer may be excited and this shows that in his world that these houses are considered to be high class which in turn demonstrates just how poor the rest of the housing might be over there Down Under. Googling Brisbane leads me to see it is a city that has many social problems crime and is a long way from anywhere with sunny weather but that people think that it is great and others think it is really quite poor and tell of stories of leaving and never going back so I suppose it is the same old way and that is people do not always realize what else is out there and the media will tell them they are living in a wonderful city they will believe it. But OP and his comments I have to say look right those houses do look very ordinary and even poor.

Brissy isn't my favorite looking city either. That style of build I found pretty much just there, haven't seen much of Nth Qld. though so can't tell about the rest of the sate. However it is quite different in places like Sydney, Melbourne, Perth & Adelaide etc. OP is pointing to a small sample to pigeon hole the other 97%.

"Yep.
How Gurjas – the Indian mummy boy* now lives the dream.

*’the Indian mummy boy’ is usually the second or third born Indian son – the aspiration is the first son will to be the shopkeeper or business man, the second son to get the government job & the third or youngest son usually has the responsibility of looking after the mother & her sisters.
The son then marries pays a dowry etc & his wife becomes like a slave to look after the son’s mother.
The father btw is long gone, run off with another woman, abandoning the family is routine.

These poor Indian mothers, the sisters and the ‘mummy boy’ are highly targeted by the Indian migrant trafficking procurers & agents.

The mother is who the foreign criminal migrant traffickers sell to.
The mother is usually sick, kidney or intestinal or stuff, uneducated, poor, (the Indian slums & rural poor are the recruitment base for what comes into Australia).

So a ‘ Loan’ debt to the mother ($11k, it’s probably up to $15k or $20k now as been a while since I was in India, and the ‘Gurjas the mummy boy’ was packaged up with fake doc & probably a fake health check (paid substitutes are common, corrupted agent doctors).

The jobs / sponsorships, like the foreign student COE scams & spousal or family re-union are all racketeered via the syndicate in Australia. Gurjas was sent off as sponsored IT skilled network supervisor to Australia on a visa pretext.
Not exploited.
A willing participant in visa fraud long before entry. Paid money to be a participant. Read the windows support manual on the plane. Could barely speak English.

But motivated & fast learner. Gurjas works legally & illegally, the call centre, plus the garage & shelf stacking at the weekend fake ID’s & three time sheets, 70 hours a week or more. Paying the shakedown fee like they all do, but not paying any tax as under the threshold on the Fake ID jobs.
Tax back in fact on his legal job.

Multiple fake ID, cash ABN, labour rings, there is an whole Indian (and Chinese or Malay or Thai or Bangladeshi, Nepalese etc) foreign run ecosystem in Australia for him.
To live in their foreign owned ex Australian housing now run as sub let cash in hand bunk share, work in their foreign run legal & illegal jobs & to pay off that debt.
Abs then he can send back whatever else he has left as remittance money to the family.

His agent procurer loan debt of $11k became $18k, then his mother borrowed some more so $23k.

Gurjas lives in small 2 bed unit out in Belmore, sharing with 6 others Indians all doing the same.
He makes enough money to bring in his mother, her sisters, his two brothers in that order on tourist / visitor visas to share the ‘Belmore Australia dream’ .
(You may have to know Belmore to appreciate the irony).

They come in to work illegally as a tourist visitor. Hundreds of thousands are doing it.
Virtually no checks or enforcement.
ABF (now DHA) reported to the Parliamentary task force on migrant illegal workers in visa breach that at least 5% of the 8.8 million Tourist Visitors to Australia entered to work illegally.
So that’s 440,000 a year doing this.
Not just Asians & Indians but the whole mix, but it is mostly Chinese & Indians that have made up the huge ‘surge’ of new tourist visitors staying in ‘private shared accommodation’ and don’t appear to be tourists or just visiting.

Gurjas gets his PR.
Did he pay the Indian HR person for fake work documents that were never checked anyway?
Who would know.

Then an foreign syndicate arranged marriage to a cousin for a fee ($15k) to finalise the debt and get some money back. They later divorce & his ex then brings in her spousal for a fee to get her money back & her & his family & so on it goes in chain migration.

His mother & her sisters & then the brothers come into Australia on repeat visitor stays, working illegally, home & cleaning & so on plus probably frauding the Medicare, the transport concession passes & everything else.

All apply for the PR to get the Medicare & welfare plus spawn their own anchor chains of bringing in more as a third world social & healthcare burden.

How the Indian government loves this, bribes paid & they cleanse out their social burden & dump it onto the white dog.

Finally they become ‘citizens’.
They renounce the Indian (sole) passport, as an Australian citizen they can each sponsor in even more & make money out of it.

Gurjas, is ‘most delightful happiness’.

He basically passed on his mummy boy obligation to the Australian taxpayer.

Onto his second wife now, money in the bank as the new wife’s family all pay him a cut as a citizen sponsor.

Gurjas is living the dream."
