Best Answer: Hey mate, feel the same here you're not alone!
Moved from Europe to Brisbane 4 years ago and can't wait to come back!
The image I had from Australia was modern cities, beach, weather, laid back lifestyle, cool and peaceful people, cheap to live.
How wrong! Public services are the worst here, it takes me sometimes 40mn to travel 6km! Where i live in Brisbane there are no beaches. I have to drive for almost 2 hours if Im not stuck in traffic, pay 40 dollars for car space, and swim in freezing water, paranoid with sharks, jellyfish, stonesfish, and whatever **** you can find in the water.
I work far more here than in Europe, it is well know and some studies prove it, Asutralia is the country where you work the longest hour. Then if you finish at 6pm, all shops are closed and night is already here. Depressing... Evryone is at home, there is no street life, so so boring. Feel like a second class citizen, feel like Im not cool enough, no Aussie friends, people are xenophob, have fun of my accent, have no conversation, just want to booze and watch footy. If you're not a drinker you're a poofta. And no Australia is not cheap, most expensive country on Earth, you pay eveerything double for **** service, and poor quality.
It is a shithole

That is not bad for an honest appraisal mate.
I don't really see how I can refute any of that in fact.
Thankfully I'm tee-total the past 29 years which definitely plays a huge part in my own mindset of how I see Sydney .
