43 million Americans *gone*-is this the rapture?
The Lost Generation: 31 Years of Roe v. Wade
by Hans Zeiger

In a sad sort of way, I am blessed to have survived the year 1985. That was the year I was born, and the year that 1.6 million of my fellow American citizens were murdered in abortion clinics.

1985 was the year that more abortions were performed than in any other year before or since except 1988 and 1990. Numbed by the widespread cultural acceptance of abortion, I lack the emotional regrets that old soldiers have when they reflect on their friends lost in battle. But the year I was born, abortion claimed more of my peers than all of the deaths in all of America´s wars combined.

In the 31 years since January 22, 1973, abortion has become one of the most common surgical procedures performed, and it is done in the safety and serenity of modern, plush clinics operated by exceptionally profitable non-profits like Planned Parenthood. Since Roe v. Wade, government social service agencies have taken advantage of the legality of abortion to add it to the list of public services provided to low-income citizens. Today, three of ten abortions are taxpayer-funded. Since 1973, one in four pre-born children have been numbered among the victims of the war against life.

If we accept the obvious, the most recent World Almanac should have listed the leading cause of death as "abortion." I once heard someone reflect on the terrible, hypothetical concept that certain great men and women of America´s past had never been born. Flip through a history book and begin crossing out the names of the presidents, the pioneers, the inventors, the writers, the scientists. Spread black ink over the photographs and paintings and names of Washington and Jefferson, of Edison and Ford, of Lincoln and Martin Luther King.

We have witnessed a purge of horrific proportions within the past couple of generations, and abortion´s count in America alone is around 43 million. But I don´t suppose that young Americans, born in the past thirty years, have taken much time to reflect on the idea that a great number of their generation has already departed from this world. 43 million souls is quite a significant number. But since they aren´t really souls, as we´re told, it doesn´t matter. They are fetuses; they are tissues; they are inconveniences. We are better without them, say their killers.

Even if we accept the humanitarian justifications of the burgeoning abortion industry, that my late peers were mere fetuses that lacked any type of spiritual dimension, there is no reasonable person who doubts that they were once living human beings. The great national debate no longer questions the definition of life, it questions whether there is any value in life at all.

Abortion doctors and pro-choice activists know quite intimately the fact that pre-born children are alive from conception. The contention of the pro-abortion movement is that life has no intrinsic value, and if possible, we ought to avoid it. Indeed, if the fetuses butchered around me in 1985 were simple organisms taken mercifully from this world to spare them from the hardships of life, and to make the burden less stressful for society, we owe our prosperity and our low poverty levels to the unborn generation.

But what if my missing contemporaries were souls created by and in the image of an Almighty God?

I reflected on this question when I protested at the grand opening of a Planned Parenthood teen clinic in my hometown a few weeks ago before returning to college for the new semester. I watched as young people drove up to the clinic and filled the parking lot to capacity. I have seen that the abortion industry has done the necessary work to maintain itself for yet another generation.

But can America survive?

Can America continue to exist through the dilation and evacuation procedure during which a crushing instrument is inserted into a mother´s uterus and pieces are pulled off of the child and assembled on a sterile, white table to make sure they all came out? Can America continue to endure the ammonite burning of children by saline amniotic infusion that concludes in a hopeless struggle against the severe pain of arsoned lungs and skin?

Today, 43 million ghosts of infanticide walk the fields and roads and city streets of America. Victims of murder, their invisible presence moves hauntingly, silently through our nation. The abject condemnation of life, legalized and advertised since 1973, thrives and grows in every state. But the innocent ghosts of infanticide cannot speak for themselves. We must do all we can to speak for them.

How do we speak for the dead? We join the pro-life movement as Americans joined the abolitionist movement of the 1850s. We speak and we write, we rally and we minister, we encourage and we contribute, we pray, until every life in every place of America is legally - and culturally - protected.

The Life War has gone on for too long. For the 43 million dead, we must carry on the fight.

and i remember back in the early 60s
while growing up in northern virginia
land of the politicians
where ob/gyns performed illegal abortions in secret places
for way too many seekers
who slept with congressmen
who often were left to go home within an hour after a coat hanger or whatever caused abortion

there will always be a need for abortion.

For starters Han is a man and men have no right to tell any woman what to do with her own body. People die every day in horrific fashions so get over it. Whatever woman makes the decision to have an abortion has to live with her decision. Judge not lest ye be Judged.

a need? I wouldn´t put it that way, but since it has been de-criminalized, at least we can hold someone accountable---as in counting the 43 missing people.

The "rapture" of Americans will occur after the next faux terrorist attack.

Can you say "mass emigration."

"For starters Han is a man and men have no right to tell any woman what to do with her own body."

OK, I can go with that, but the baby is a product of 2 people and Han was one of them. Of course, Han can´t be sure he is the dad, but can be sure he boinked her.

So..... here is a good compromise.

No man can ever tell any woman squat about ´her body´ - ever!

But, once a child is born, any man who feels that he is within a 4 month window of posibility of being the dad should have a right to wander over to her house and kill the baby.

there is some equality for ya.

The biggest problem in America is that there are not ENOUGH abortions performed each year. I congratulate every single one of the FORTY MILLION OR SO AMERICAN WOMEN who knew for themselves that the zygote, embryo or fetus they were pregnant with was unconsciously conceived and unwanted.

Obviously contraception, sterilization and the verboten abortion is not advocated to the ones who truly need them the most. How many low lifes do YOU know who are on their 3rd, 4th or even 5th unwanted, neglected used and abused pregnancy?

Obviously all the systems in this country collude together to prevent the drug addicts and the mentally ill from preventing pregancy.

Did you know there are diagnosed schizophrenics who are on their heavy meds and get pregnant as a matter of course?

I went to a pp clinic with a friend to pick-up her bc pills. The waiting room (I did not think that they actually performed abortions there), had a propaganda scrapbook, letters from girls, and poems & stuff...it was weird, some of the stories gave me the idea that somehow those girls (the writers), thought that if they aborted a child, the child would "come-back", the next time they got preggo....it said stuff like "I´m not ready for you now, but I´m saving a place for you in my heart, someday I will be ready to be your Mother".......I wondered if PP had books like this in all of their offices?

I had kids in two of those years mentioned.
I have wondered myself if their future spouse is among the missing---I know-a weird thought.
All in all, I would say they are happy to be alive (and the world is a better place).
Some of my cohorts in parenting, I must say-act like they actually got some kind of official permission to breed kids---and no I don´t mean a marraige certificate, I sometimes get the feeling like some of the parents get the idea that they were chosen to pro-create and those of us who just did it ´cause we wanted to are scum.

HEY....do you have to get personal?
I do my fair share and then some when it comes to helping out those of us who are born.
Just because I c&P´d the article does not mean that I agree with everything that the author says---(I did not author the item).
And-I wasn´t trying to start trouble or hurt anyone´s feelings~ just thought it was interesting.

"special permission to procreate?" what are you talking about? Oh do you mean those tiny minority of those who consciously conceive? versus the oopsie and the whoopsie unconscious conceived?

Most humans in America are as conscious with mate selection and conception as your common pet dog.

I have known several women who admitted they had children to get attention!

I have known many women who had children because everyone else was having them!

I have known more than a few who say they had more than two because the ´mexicans´ are outbreeding us.

I know of thousands who have unhindered amounts of children because their church men tell them to!

And who knows how many children are born simply because their mother wanted to ´trap their man´, ´get married´ and other insidious reasons to create a life that will go on for a very long time with huge sacrifices and responsibilities that many people find they are just not cut out for.

It would be a positive step forward for this country if once again the ´two is enough´ slogan was wafted out or pounded into everyone´s head again. Overpopulation is not a myth. Unwanted, and unconsciously conceived children are abused and neglected children.

Uh...how do you know that? Proof? Anybody any where?

"..and God breathed into him the breath of life."

I would say that from a Biblical standpoint, life begins when the child starts breathing on their own. Up until that point, their body is no more than an extension of the mother.

Since no one has yet PROVED when life starts, the whole argument is purely subjective.

Actually the ones that made it... were born will be hauled of to the internment camps that are scattered around the US and Canada and eventually be murdered there....

and there is no rapture... it is only a myth created by those of wishful thinking operating out of denial and a wish to control and manipulate others.

Also, I think abortion is a lousy way of dealing with birth control.. I believe in prevention.. sterilize all men after you milk them and freeze sperm for insemination when they want to have children and take responsibility for impregnating women who do not wish to have children...

I don´t see where that is any more radical then this whole abortion thing. Just one little clip. That would end the unwanted pregnancies..

Re: 43 million Americans *gone*-is this the rapture?
Oh I agree abortion is a desperate act no doubt. A sad act though the emotion mainly expressed by the millions of WOMEN who have had them, is RELIEF.

Only when the real reasons that women have abortions come out, versus the "can´t keep their legs shut", "easy to make, easy to kill", "abortion is used as contraception", which is ALL propaganda to promote the ´woman is evil-vaginas with teeth-kill their own young´ mentalities viciously spread by those with ulterior motivations and anti-life agendas of their own.

One scheme I thought of that could prevent any and all unplanned unconscious conception would be to plug the vans deferens in all newborn baby boys. Only when they grew up and the MEN made the conscious decisions to create children would would be mutually adored and revered -they then go in and have this postnatal plug removed.

As long as the contraception is what it is, as long as our society is what it is, abortions should be kept legal and even advocated for.

Imagine a society where ALL CHILDREN were revered and raised with respect, love and honor. Imagine the civilisation that would result from the children who were conceived and raised that way. Imagine the outraged and horrified reaction of the ones whose children were consciously conceived if they were prey to warmongers who profit off of death and destruction. Imagine the reactions to the pedophiles who prey on children to rape and kill.

So many great things would come from all people being born that were truly wanted and lovingly accepted and welcomed into the world.

God told John that He knew him before he was born.

An extension of the mother??with its own separate DNA...heart...blood...lungs..brain...and soul???

people make up many reasons to legitamitize the murder of the unborn.

But its still murder.

The world has no right to critisise Hitler for killing 6 million..while approving the murder of 43 million.

murder is murder is murder is murder.

You may have a point. I believe that Jesus will spare children from what is about to happen, but I dont think he meant for them to be sucked up a tube and put in a garbage disposal. I dont think He wanted them partially delivered and their brains sucked out either. I really think He is pissed at us.

and thats all i gotta say about that
