I used to be a courier. Now I'm bored and on the internet. Ask me a question.

You know what the most annoying part is?

Right now you're thinking:

"No, people couldn't get away with that. There are rules and regulations that have to be followed. They couldn't break the rules."

As if they were you.

We're just cattle to the people with real power.
 Quoting: Lou Czar

It's some sort of psychological block ordinary people seem to have.

I grew up around someone who didn't have that block, at all. How they looked at other people was just...like they were dumb, malleable, sheep.

But how they moved - was incredible. No door, no law, no social norm or expectation stood in their way.

They were free to roam, take, live, and destroy.

I'm kind of between the two worlds.
I know if I murder someone in daylight, that the feds probably won't bury the evidence for me.

Yet, knowing there aren't actual boundaries where generally accepted rules and limitations are (not even talking laws, just the ones society and we ourselves impose) has allowed me to reach so much further in this life.

Yeah the "do as I say, not as I do" conditioning is strong in me. Being reared in the typical system of Christian Mores all of my life, I personally can't help but believe them. That's just true for me. But I do realize they are constructs that are not universal. Through experience I know that others can manipulate me through my beliefs. My beliefs, through conditioning, are my psychological block. That's probably true for some others. For the rest, I swear, and this sounds totally elitist, cold, and cruel, there are others that seem to operate as mostly mindless, soulless beings. The whole NPC Meme phenomena cuts right down to it.
 Quoting: Lou Czar

I do think there are people without purpose on this planet, whether by design, luck, or lack of motivation.

And yep, exploiters use your beliefs, your kindness, and your belief in the kindness of others.

The one paper bag I could never break free from as a child was how people perceive family.

When they see a woman and a child together, the woman is automatically a mother, thus automatically the authority plus in the child's best interest.

As a victim of kidnapping, I could never find a way to break through that.

She told people she was my mother, so they trusted that she was because she was the "authority" in the dynamic.

I told them she was not my mother, and they didn't believe me because I was the child with "an active imagination" according to said authority.

She abused their belief in kindness and family.

I wasn't at a level where I knew how to undo that damage.

They just thought I was odd.

They couldn't understand why I didn't like her cooking (universal truth apparently: all kids love their mothers cooking).

They couldn't understand why I didn't trust her, for she had the title of "mother" and I had the title of "child."

They couldn't understand a boatload.

So, instead, they tried to pressure me into conforming with what they believed a mother-child relationship was - with an unsafe person who wasn't my mother.

And all the evidence was right there in front of their face, with all the pieces. They just actively chose to only cling to what they were first taught - that the parent is the authority on all subjects and the child is a whimsical little play thing that cannot think outside of pretend.

Conditioning is strong.

That and sometimes people just don't want to face anything ugly and would prefer a sugar-coated lie instead.

I had to break free from "blood is thicker than water" when I was about 10. My grandpa was chasing my mom around our truck with a shovel trying to brain her to death. Left big dents and gouges all over. I threw myself in his legs and tripped him to the ground.

I have no idea why some people are so evil. He did other things to me before all that happened. Yet all other people chose to see was what he presented himself as in public, notably as an elder in our church, oh the irony. It's like you wrote, normalcy bias is more powerful than proof positive of disturbing, uncomfortable things.

They should be teaching critical thinking and other things such as Latin Roots and The Classics in public school nowadays, just like they did when I attended public school growing up.

Instead they're brainwashing our kids to be good little proles and useful idiots. It's already been going on, and that is the base of our future.

It isn't looking good.

A farmer had 30 cows and 28 chickens. How many didn't?

2+

Cows produce babies.
Chickens are babies with confused pasts (they don't even know if they came before or after the egg).
If they were born on The Farm, chances are they don't know what came first.

Therefor, 30 cows gave birth to 28 chickens (ignoring multiple births to the same cow), so a minimum of 2 cows did not give birth to the next generation of farm products.

We are talking about the CIA, right?
Because all I know about actual chickens is that they have a unhealthy fascination with spaghetti.
