Hawaii has too many volcanoes and earthquakes will shatter your islands. Good thing is it has high elevation and isolation from industry/population. But it is unpredictable today, imagine during the event. Also, you’re extremely far from all other landmass. If you need to explore another area, you’d have nowhere to go.

However, if indigenous ppl have been living there for centuries, they found a way. I just think it’s risky to be on active volcano territory while surrounded by ocean on all sides.
