Lastly, Trump didn't create the shale oil fields. BHO did. The vast majority of them went bankrupt when gas fell to $35 and that debt was then passed onto the banks, which was then, added to the national debt.

E.G. The shale bubble was a massive debt distortion in the economy, a very big one. It just got swept under the rug into the everything bubble. That Trump has now taken credit for.

It's getting a little ridiculous that someone cannot invent a product over here without the Chinese ignoring patent laws and ripping it off. We have given in to them again and again and it has nearly killed our country economically. Time to play hard ball.

This hate China campaign is basically about maintaining American military and technological superiority.

America doesn't want any competition in military and technology from any other country for fear of losing number one status and losing the power to negotiate by bullying.

China is looked as threat By Americans cause China has the human resources or intelligence to advance technologically and militarily very far forward. Even now, American telecom companies are unable to compete against HuaWei in the 5G tech of which HuaWei carves out 15% of the patents. Those steering policy in America see that China is developing rapidly in artificial intelligence which can be used for military technology.

So, this tariff war is nothing but an effort to stunt China's advance in technology. It's not only about tariff, but boycotting the selling of Microprocessors making machines to Chinese companies to delay China's advance. I bet the American policy makers are thinking hard in relocating America manufacturing companies in China to other countries. And if other countries can produce what China can produce, America could be buying from them instead of buying from China just to weaken China.

The so call developing American own companies is simply secondary to the real purpose of this tariff war, to stunt China's rapid development. If there's any other country rapidly developing the same as China, America will be having trade war with that country.

It's about maintaining America number one status where America can control every other countries in this world. And this effort to maintain number one status through oppression /subversion and war (trade or real) instead of developing America's own human resources, will eventually fail.

I would gladly pay more for US made items if I could ever find them. Short term pain for long term gain. Suck it up. The additional money you will be spending will be going into the pocket of an American and staying in the US. But, if you'd rather not pay the tarriff, DON'T BUY CHINESE SHIT!!!

The tariffs are on Chinese goods, not all goods. The Chinese tariff will open the market for other importers who have also been handicapped by China's unfair trade practices. Maybe products from Mexico or South America. Maybe their economies will improve so they all won't have to migrate here. China's practices have had far-reaching effects, not just on the US but developing nations as well.
