They were never spoiled. They had household chores to do in exchange for a weekly allowance. Skip the chores and the allowance also skipped your pocket that week.

Kids were grounded when caught doing something they weren't supposed to be doing, and not just for a day or two either. Grounding meant no TV, no after school or outside activities until the grounding was over. Mine always lasted a month.

It's the spoiled brats of the last 2 generations who have not been taught anything by parents or schools and were allowed to do anything with no consequence, unless they broke a real law and then they paid real consequences, jail and incarceration.

The generations before my parents and grandparents consisted of nothing but hard physical work to clothe and feed their families. There was no time or energy for crime, real or otherwise.

You young shits know nothing of life before you were born, much less a few generations before you.
