At first the mills cared about the workers. Then they became dangerous slave labor sweat shops. Then the people had strikes and things became better. Then unions and government became too strong and forced things over to the side of "too expensive to run these companies, the products won't sell at this price". Then the mills left for 3rd world countries never to return.

Actually in the fifties , people really ran with the introduction of processed foods . TV dinners , chips , coke and Pepsi , cold cereals , bottle feeding , to name a few .

Blaming all boomers for what counter-culture hippies did is like blaming all Americans for the slavery / racial segregation that Democrats did.
