Re: My wife is from PERU and this is what SHE thinks of Trump
That's fucking ridiculous and probably never happened. If she actually said that, she's a sell out.

I'm from South America too. Learn how to humble yourself, you could go hungry, starve, not have clean water or food. That's the reality every fucking day for the majority of people on this planet, you privileged fuck. Hunger doesn't care about your race, country, etc. You better thank fucking God that you were born highly privileged but he's not letting you into his kingdom because you're a sorry piece of shit and so is Trump.

People in other countries don't give a shit about the greediest nation's law. Where food is being thrown away constantly and everyone looks like a fat pig.

You can take your pro Trump garbage and shove it up your ass. So many people in Latin America and all over the world are starving. You think just because your wife got lucky, that makes her right?

If you think that people in the US are not starving, too, then you are a fool.

Sorry you are so angry. It helps me to get out and help others. I grew up in a very dysfunctional family (parents fell into an abusive cult) - and so there was zero for me growing up. I managed to work my way through college (working nights), and then married really young. I put my husband through college (cleaning houses). We have 1 child, 24 - who is not materialistic - or "privileged" and she waits tables, and is in almost graduated from college with a degree in mathamatics. We all volunteer for organizations that serve the disadvantaged. Many churches - of all denominations offer these opportunities. Some here in San Francisco and very liberal (if that matters). I personally have worked for organizations serving the Native Americans. They suffer more abuse, trauma, poverty, sexual assault, and child trafficking - more than any other group. Be grateful, and pick up your tools - we need you!

I am well aware. I married a Cherokee man, and we have a child.

I do not know why you think I am angry. I am observive.

Just this past weekend, I was involved in raising food for local children, so I do not know why you felt it necessary to educate me regarding volunteerism.

Conservatives give more money to charity than liberals. That's the conventional wisdom, anyway, and at least one new study backs that thinking up.

"How America Gives," published by The Chronicle of Philanthropy, uses IRS data to determine giving patterns across the country, broken out by income ranges across ZIP codes, counties, and states. Researchers looked at adjusted gross income to determine how much people gave, and the study tracked about 80 percent of all money donated to charity by taxpaying Americans in 2012, the latest year for which IRS data was available.

While most coverage of the report has focused on the finding that top-earners have been giving a smaller share of their income to charity than poorer Americans, The Chronicle study also highlights "giving patterns," broken out by state and compared against how each state voted in the 2012 presidential election, i.e., whether it went for Romney or Obama.

Overall, the states in which people gave the highest percentage of their adjusted gross incomes were also states that voted for Romney, while states in which people gave the lowest percentage of their adjusted gross income went for Obama. The top 17 states for rate of giving all went for Romney.
 Quoting:

Other studies show that the rate of generosity based on ideology goes beyond income levels too. Modest-income conservatives give more - percentage-wise, than upper-income liberals. To both secular and non-secular causes.

This nation is ruled by imaginary laws, stolen by people who are now in the process of becoming the minority, I spit on the American flag and everything it stands for
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47539948

There is a reason people try so hard to get here. They want what we created. Even you. You get rid of the hard working, law abiding Americans and replace them with criminals that rather break in to our country and be given free shit, you are going to hate this place even more than where you escaped from.

The generations that fought to build this place and make the Constitution were thoughtful and intelligent and never given any free shit. Yeahh, slavery was bad but, we kept the best aspects of the framework for you.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53652834

For all the lawless invaders who try to shame the US for stealing the land, they forget that we all live on the same planet and they have natural resources in their home countries. They just don't know HOW to build a successful society where people are not starving or they are too lazy to do the hard work to make their countries similar or even better than the US. Truth is they want what was BUILT in the US, and they are mad that people have a higher standard of living than where they were born. Somehow they never think it might be their responsibility to build a better life where they are. People in the US are not handed a beautiful life, they have to work hard for it!!!

I left the US for South America, because I see bad times coming, from economic problems, to illegal immigrants taking tax dollars from citizens. While I like the people in my new country, it is more than apparent that they don't have a higher quality of life because the majority of the population don't want to work hard. South America is rich in resources and is a beautiful continent. It could be an amazing place to live, but the people don't want to work hard and build anything like the US.

So, to all the illegal invaders, enjoy your freebies while you can. The well will run dry and people will soon tire of your constant whining. Many blacks in the US now don't want to help fight your "immigration war" when they see all the homeless US citizens (many who are black) living on the streets, while illegal immigrants are getting free housing and money.

Let's get real, these ranting pro-illegal immigrants just want what people in the US have. It's like a criminal invading your home because you have one. F'off

Thank you SO much for your reporting.

What I noticed in most of 20+ countries I have been in over the past 20+ years (I lived in 4 of them) was that in NOT ONE of them, did people work like I have noticed we do in the US. I am nearly 50 years old. So, I have observed nearly half a century of this.

AND, we pay JUST AS MUCH if not more taxes, too!!!

THINK about this, fellow US citizens.

Further, I will never forget the day I watched a German television show that showed an IMMIGRANT get waved to the FRONT of the line at the 'Dole' facility...and grab his very large sum of money... and then jumped into a brand new Audi (very expensive model)...and the look on the native's faces was priceless.

There are greater and lesser degrees of this happening all over the Earth.

Many also do not take into consideration that the US is still a very 'young' country in comparison to the bulk of the rest.

Yet, we have the longest-standing Constitution...considering we are made up of just about every other country, that is quite something.

Things to consider.

OP and wife want to be good worker drones.

Problem is they will be replaced with better worker drones (AI).

Then what?
The people owning all the robots producing all goods we use will be gods.
Everyone else will be a pet to the elite.

There is nothing you can do that robots won't do cheaper.

And all of a sudden, capitalism is biting their behinds, and it is not so funny any more.

As the matter of fact, it will become apparent that the american dream was a nightmare to real humans.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76370924

Yawn...
This has been happening over and over again.
Slavery... All the jobs will be done by slaves...
Industrial Revolution.... All the jobs will be put out by manufacturing lines.
Automation... All the manufacturing jobs will go away due to automation.

Its funny, you know, how things adapt, and there's ALWAYS something to do. Necessity, the mother of invention.

You ever notice how "The END" is ALWAYS near... for generations....

Good day.

Sounds like we've both seen the differences from around the world. I'm early 50's. When I tell my friends in my new country how many hours most professional people work on average (40+ per week) and that mortgages are typically 30 years with high property taxes, they are shocked. They never knew how hard US citizens have to work for their lifestyle. All they see is the fruit of our labors and they think everything was handed to us.

I grew up with a single mom and little money. I had to pay my way through college and work for more than 15 years to build a great career. My life didn't start to show real benefits of all my hard work until my late 30's. Not once did I think someone owed me something other than the opportunity to try my best. Everything I have I earned with hard work, no handouts.

Legal immigrants tend to be more thoughtful and resourceful. They come to the US with a skill or a burning desire to BUILD their own American dream. They don't come breaking the law and complaining that they are starving and should be helped without question. It's fairly obvious these angry, pro-illegal people don't have the strong character or motivation to improve their lives.

One of my neighbors is Venezuelan. She came her legally and is a school teacher. She absolutely loves Trump and hates the Democrats. She still has a lot of family in Venezuela that she talks to weekly and they all love Trump. She said the Democrats are the exact same type of people that took control and destroyed Venezuela. She always says that the Dems need to be destroyed and can never be allowed to get power again. She's pro 2nd amendment, and the last time I spoke with her she was going to go get a new gun. She thinks the Dems may create a civil war here and she wants to be prepared.

Re: My wife is from PERU and this is what SHE thinks of Trump
One of my neighbors is Venezuelan. She came her legally and is a school teacher. She absolutely loves Trump and hates the Democrats. She still has a lot of family in Venezuela that she talks to weekly and they all love Trump. She said the Democrats are the exact same type of people that took control and destroyed Venezuela. She always says that the Dems need to be destroyed and can never be allowed to get power again. She's pro 2nd amendment, and the last time I spoke with her she was going to go get a new gun. She thinks the Dems may create a civil war here and she wants to be prepared.

Thanks for sharing. The situation in Venezuela is sending thousands of people to Peru's borders every day. I couldn't believe it when I last visited this past December. Lima was packed with homeless Venezuelans looking for work.

Re: My wife is from PERU and this is what SHE thinks of Trump
She became a US citizen 3 years ago. Starting out as newlyweds, we had very little money and little resources... But, we made it work. We sacrificed, worked hard and took good advice. We listened. Trust me when I say this; people recognize hard work. People recognize if you have the will, they will help provide you a way, and in our case we are no exception to that. She earned her citizenship by doing exactly what this country required her to do. During the process, from every individual, working every level of this governmental process, we were encouraged and instructed on what we needed to do and how best to do it. They wanted her in this country. The true American spirit came alive and was witnessed in everyone involved in her naturalization process.

She, as well as her countless other family members back in Peru, fully support our President. She sees his policies as common sense and fair. She laughs when the word "racist" is used against him. Because she did the work in which she was required to do, she has absolutely zero sympathy for those who break the law and claim they had to, all to be given the same privileges and rights she has earned, the legal, right way. The growing Spanish community, at least where I am from, feel the exact same way. They do not let the TV think for them. What's right will always be right.

Envias tu dinero. Peruvian televison programmes are wild. I partied in Ancash for a month.

OP and wife want to be good worker drones.

Problem is they will be replaced with better worker drones (AI).

Then what?
The people owning all the robots producing all goods we use will be gods.
Everyone else will be a pet to the elite.

There is nothing you can do that robots won't do cheaper.

And all of a sudden, capitalism is biting their behinds, and it is not so funny any more.

As the matter of fact, it will become apparent that the american dream was a nightmare to real humans.

Re: My wife is from PERU and this is what SHE thinks of Trump
What a bunch bs. I just turned 80. I starved as a kid in the 40’s almost dying, I fought my way to be educated and failed a lot. That rich kid frump does not and never will represent me, he has no feeling of what it is to be truly human. I have been in the past many things, pig farmer, fireman, paramedic, educator, contractor, rescue saving many lives, what the fuck has he done other than brag about himself. He lost my respect the a few days after being elected and stood there lying to the public, claiming to have the most at his inagauration, to claim the econmy was booming all because of him. Where I came from, farmers were dry but honest, someone like him would have been relegated to cleaning shit, not running the milking machine, he is shit and always will be, he will have to lead a humble life or several to even understand.

Why don't these people roll up their collective sleeves and get to work? America didn't become great overnight. It was done by a collection of hard working people that built what we have today, our relatives and ancestors. Why don't you start fixing your shitty countries so in say 200 years, your descendants can feel the same way we do.
