I managed to work my way through college (working nights), and then married really young. I put my husband through college (cleaning houses). We have 1 child, 24 - who is not materialistic - or "privileged" and she waits tables, and is in almost graduated from college with a degree in mathamatics. We all volunteer for organizations that serve the disadvantaged. Many churches - of all denominations offer these opportunities. Some here in San Francisco and very liberal (if that matters). I personally have worked for organizations serving the Native Americans. They suffer more abuse, trauma, poverty, sexual assault, and child trafficking - more than any other group. Be grateful, and pick up your tools - we need you!

I left the US for South America, because I see bad times coming, from economic problems, to illegal immigrants taking tax dollars from citizens. South America is rich in resources and is a beautiful continent. It could be an amazing place to live, but the people don't want to work hard and build anything like the US.
