I managed to work my way through college (working nights), and then married really young. I put my husband through college (cleaning houses). We have 1 child, 24 - who is not materialistic - or "privileged" and she waits tables, and is in almost graduated from college with a degree in mathamatics. We all volunteer for organizations that serve the disadvantaged. Many churches - of all denominations offer these opportunities. Some here in San Francisco and very liberal (if that matters). I personally have worked for organizations serving the Native Americans. They suffer more abuse, trauma, poverty, sexual assault, and child trafficking - more than any other group. Be grateful, and pick up your tools - we need you!

She became a US citizen 3 years ago. Starting out as newlyweds, we had very little money and little resources... But, we made it work. We sacrificed, worked hard and took good advice. We listened. Trust me when I say this; people recognize hard work. People recognize if you have the will, they will help provide you a way, and in our case we are no exception to that. She earned her citizenship by doing exactly what this country required her to do. During the process, from every individual, working every level of this governmental process, we were encouraged and instructed on what we needed to do and how best to do it. They wanted her in this country. The true American spirit came alive and was witnessed in everyone involved in her naturalization process.

She, as well as her countless other family members back in Peru, fully support our President. She sees his policies as common sense and fair. She laughs when the word "racist" is used against him. Because she did the work in which she was required to do, she has absolutely zero sympathy for those who break the law and claim they had to, all to be given the same privileges and rights she has earned, the legal, right way. The growing Spanish community, at least where I am from, feel the exact same way. They do not let the TV think for them. What's right will always be right.

For all the lawless invaders who try to shame the US for stealing the land, they forget that we all live on the same planet and they have natural resources in their home countries. They just don't know HOW to build a successful society where people are not starving or they are too lazy to do the hard work to make their countries similar or even better than the US. Truth is they want what was BUILT in the US, and they are mad that people have a higher standard of living than where they were born. I left the US for South America, because I see bad times coming, from economic problems, to illegal immigrants taking tax dollars from citizens. South America is rich in resources and is a beautiful continent. It could be an amazing place to live, but the people don't want to work hard and build anything like the US.
