In my opinion it's because "liberalism" had not finishing "molting" into what it was to become....These "descriptive words are just "terms".
I heard it said it doesn't matter what you call a government, it's how the people at the top govern or oswhat the fabric of their character etc. We could have the Buddhism government and yet install someone like Stalin.

The fact most of the mean, miserable, corrupt, chaotic, inhumane, non-compassionate societies are just about always dominated by people of the sociopolitical left - not sociopolitical right - doesn't phase people who like to philosophically masturbate to their liberal feelings. . .
