How do I ask a man of the church for his time?
I joined the Army at 18 almost immediately after my 18th birthday in 1/2000 and was almost immediately shipped off. This isn’t a thing of PTSD, or “I saw this and can’t get it out of my head” or that kind of thing. This is an incident that happened after my return that still affects me today. I actually posted about it in here years ago. Like 5+ years ago, but this isn’t really the place to be confiding this sort of thing. The chaplain all those years ago gave me an empty answer in all of his arrogance that was almost an insult.

Over the past few months I’ve considered this idea. I’m not really interested in going to a regular weekly service, celebration won’t give me what I seek. I’m originally from Atlanta and say whatever you’d like, but the churches in inner cities are filled with some of the most legitimate attendees who have what many don’t. I’ve considered asking someone there, as to it’s something they might be familiar with although I’m a white guy. (Ironic) but it’s not a deal breaker.

I know these men have families and their own lives, and I imagine that leading a church is a full time job in itself, but although I’ve never been a churchgoer, I’ve highly respected the wisdom of those who are true in their faith and wiser than the others. But I don’t know how to approach these guys. I can be a smart ass, and have fun, but GLP is the first time I’ve even asked about it or brought it up. I haven’t brought it up to my wife or parents because I don’t want them to worry about me. I know someone here knows this simple courtesy, I just want to make sure I don’t interrupt and do it with the respect and integrity I want to.

Just to clarify, I no longer live in Atlanta, I haven’t since joining the military.

You know what? Fuck you. Fuck every single person who saw my post who has threatened another user by telling them that they’ll bow a knee to Jesus or any other kind of propaganda that you spout not because you actually believe it, but because it makes you feel like you’re worth more than someone else is. I got in the shower honestly confident that I would have more suggestions than I had on my own regarding how to go about this, but people would rather worship Trump and talk shit about Muslims than they would be an actual Christian and try to help someone seeking someone wiser than themselves. I’ve made my ignorance regarding the difference in denominations as clear as I can, I know I’m not J&wish, and Iits not really a confession; but my honesty is nothing short of so. As much as people were JUST bitching about Christians being censored on FB, I couldn’t get the help that I used those exact posts to decide to ask the questions I’ve had.

Thanks to all of the covert Donald Trump worshippers disguising themselves as churchgoers. I’m not really even sure where to ask such an abstract question, but I know I don’t want to put it all over every forum and I don’t want to resort to a sock fb acct to ask someone in some religious group there.

What I do know is that I’m not going to go to every church in town and spread my business.

I’m seeking advice on how to do something I’ve never done and people who put a mortal man over their own souls wouldn’t do so if they knew what it was like to be honestly sacrificed. Actually I have a feeling that I know exactly why some of them, but I know there are more. It’s a simple question and I’m not being a smart-ass, I’ve gone through effort to prove my honesty, which I shouldn’t even have to do to begin with. Excuse my frustration, please.

I've only seen one of the soldiers of the Enemy. I posted mine here back in 2008 and no one posted on my thread either.

We are either being blocked off from communication or no one wants to hear us.

Jesus is real man, but most "Christians" are going to hell.

Jesus said "I am the truth, THE WAY, and THE LIFE." This wasn't a parable it was literally.

We are to be true warriors in Christ not living our lives to further our own desires.

Going to church once a week or casting out devil's is not enough.

OP, you're brave enough to serve your country, but not brave enough to approach a Christian pastor or church goer to talk about your problems? Really?

Say what you want to me, insult me, or whatever, but I think you are either confused or a total chicken shit. Hopefully, you're just confused and in the grips of "over think."

You a man? Go talk to someone. Nothing to be scared of.

Ok, I’m going to honestly try to chill for a minute. ^^this^^ isn’t happening though, I wish I hadn’t brought it up then.

The basic question for the others is simple; how do I properly as a man of church for his time? I don’t want to be rude and interrupt what I know has to be an extremely busy job, and I know these guy have families and they hear people’s problems, but this is an EXTREMELY unique thing. Not a PTSD kind of thing. I’m not seeking weekly service, celebration isn’t what I’m seeking, I’m seeking consultation and maybe help with someone wiser than I am, but I don’t even know where to start.

I shared mine with my pastor, he cane to me as I was new to the church. Christ gives us boldness to speak up.

So what if he doesn't believe you, keep searching to you find one who does.

You're a service man, you really think the enemy is going to make this easy?

When you choose Christ you go TO WAR.

Being a True Christian is a constant battle, if it isn't hard it isn't true.

Re: How do I ask a man of the church for his time?
If I read your original post correctly, you’re asking how to find and approach a good pastor about sharing the story of what you’ve seen and experienced. They can be hard to find but do exist. Be careful because a lot of them are freemasons.

You may have to visit a few churches to find a good one. When you think you’ve found one, pray about it first because you don’t want to cast your pearls before swine or make yourself a target for harassment and gangstalking.

If it feels right, call the church office and make an appointment to speak with the pastor about something personal.

You could always share your story here or make a YouTube channel. Just be prepared for mixed reaction and feedback. There are a lot of people who’d be interested in what you have to share who have similar stories.

Also I’m tired of WAR. It’s tiring. It’s hard to grasp the sacrifice part, but just give me the benefit of the doubt here. Do I call the church and make an appt? Can I send a message on FB? Baptist, some other? I don’t really know the difference?

If you’re in a bible-believing church, just approach the pastor or one of the elders and say you have a personal struggle and you need someone to talk to about it. They are there for just that very reason. Elders are volunteering their time to help shepherd the flock. They would be eager to help or point you in a direction where you could find help. It’s not an imposition to them.
