I don't know if what you are dealing with can be helped by talking to someone of "authority" within the Church, OP. Just from my own experience several years ago, I went and talked to my Priest at the time about an issue that had been quite traumatic to me. After completely breaking down, telling him everything, and hoping he could help me somehow, he simply looked at me and said in a rather arrogant manner, "Pray for him - (the person that had caused me so much emotional grief/pain)." That was it. I left more upset, and even angry at myself for having believed this Priest could have helped me in any way, or at least offered me some kind of psychological calm and comfort. I ended up having to find the resolve within myself, for looking back now, I don't know that anyone could have really helped me more than I had to help myself.

Whatever it is you are dealing with, take some time to spend with yourself, but do something active while your mind works on it. What I mean is, maybe take a solo trip somewhere and hike to the highest peak. Sounds crazy, but talk it out loud to the plants, trees, animals, angels, or even God around you during the hike. Then, once you reach the peak, look down at the valley below and focus on how large and beautiful it is. It will help to make your problems seem smaller in this larger picture of the world. Tell yourself you have it within you to overcome whatever it is.

Something that helped me as well was using brain-wave entrainment to alter the frequency that had been running through me as a result of all the negative pent-up energy I had been dealing with. Again, sounds crazy, but this actually did help me.

Keep active to help keep your mind from 'going there' anymore. If you don't already, also do a cleansing fast for at least a week, and imagine it cleansing your body of everything bad that happened to you.

I hope that helps, at least some for you. Lastly, thank you for your service, soldier.
