That didn't happen! Sorry. But we can dream, can't we? Maybe if we fantasize enough, 5G won't react with the clouds overhead, and all the severe weather will go away? Anonymous Coward User ID: 77734638 Portugal 06/17/2019 06:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A lot of rain today... National Weather Service Melbourne FL 412 AM EDT Mon Jun 17 2019 .DISCUSSION... ...Storms Expected to Produce Very Heavy Rainfall Today... Current...The Atlantic surface ridge axis remains across NOFL early this morning, with SE-SSE flow in place across ECFL. A weak H50 low is centered near Lake Okeechobee and drifting NE, while a weak W-E oriented H85 trough extends west along 26N from the Everglades into the eastern GOMEX near 85W. this feature is drifting north around the western periphery of the Atlantic ridge. Today-tonight...The H50 low near Lake O will drift NE and offshore north of the Bahamas this afternoon. The H85 trough will strengthen as it drifts N then NE across the peninsula today through tonight as a weak surface reflection of this feature develops. A very moist air mass (1.9 to 2.1" PWAT) will remain in place with as the surface-H85 flow veers from SE/SSE to S/SW. while mid-upper level contributions will become largely neutral, the deep moisture in place coupled with pre-existing synoptic scale low level convergence and local sea/lake breeze boundaries should result in numerous showers and lightning storms areawide today, mainly during the afternoon and early evening. A SSE to south steering flow <10Kt which runs parallel to the local sea breeze boundaries coupled with ~2.0" PWATs is a recipe for very heavy rainfall, and will be hitting this pretty hard in the HWO/G-HWO product suite. Expect 1-3" in heavier storms, and would not be at all surprised to see even locally higher amounts today, especially inland. Lingering rain and a few embedded storms will linger into early evening, followed by slow decrease overnight, while mid and high clouds linger late. Max temps will range from around 85F along the immediate coast to 88-90F inland. Mins in the L70s. Tuesday-Wednesday...tail end of weak mid level trough reaches into north FL with series of weak shortwave reflections passing aloft. With low- level ridge axis becoming established over south FL, weak to moderate Westerly steering flow becomes re-established across CWA. These factors, combined with plentiful tropical moisture (Precipitable Water values near 2 inches), will result in a continuation of a high coverage of diurnal storms, with areas of heavy rainfall. POPs both days generally 60-70 percent areawide, becoming isolated during overnight periods. Clouds/precip should help moderate max temps to the upper 80s, with mins in the mid 70s. Thursday-Sunday...Flow aloft becomes more zonal late week, then a building anticyclone over the Gulf of Mexico gradually expands eastward toward the peninsula. Drier air will advect eastward from the gulf and gradually lower PW values towards 1.5 inches. POPs will become reduced for the late week into the weekend, generally 30-50 percent Thu, 20-30 percent Fri, and closer to climo for the weekend (30-40 percent). With lower cloud/storm coverage, Max temps will rebound into the lower 90s late weekend, with some mid 90s possible inland over the weekend (mainly near 90 along the east coast). Little change in mins...lower to mid 70s. && |
