Re: Last House In Village
A hitch hiker from hell? Or heaven sent? This old guy has lived in his village for God knows how long. Seen the Germans leave beneath a black cloud of flies. Probably experienced the Chernobyl incident, and lived through many of hard times. Something a lot of us here in the cities have little knowledge of. To be old, and to watch your friends and family die is one thing. To be left alone as the last man in your village, far from society, is another thing completely. Memories of past days, and vodka. Who else does that man have, other than God? To see people going through life in tougher situations is humbling. I went to liveleak looking for carnage, and found this instead. A story of an old man, the last one left in his village on the Belarussian border.
