Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77541764 Sometimes burglars and other criminals do things like that , to appear harmless while doing something illegal For all this officer could have known, this guy could have been there casing the place True, but we're not living in Nazi Germany. Cops just can't stop anyone at anytime for any reason and demand we show them our papers. Actually, in most states they CAN, legally even if it's not legal, it's better to comply . Show your ID, explain yourself, then be on your way Or, you can be one of those "I know my rights!" idiots and escalate things, then end up dying from a restraint hold or being tased. the choice is yours
