While the idea was exhilarating, when the first shell landed and made my body turn to jello. Kept my head down , kissed my ass goodbye and thought that was the end.

After fire for effect was over...my nuts hurt and I had to take a shit.

We drove through a Republican Guards equivalent Artillery Barrage During the First Gulf War. It blew all of our TA-50 right off the tanks.

The only things left where burnt and shrapnel shredded straps.

Mine was 0811/12 Field artillery, 155 towed, back in the day when we split trails. SEMPER FI !

Panama - must have really sucked deploying at Christmas.

Yeah, it was a night engagement and the Republican Guards had buried all of their Tanks and Artillery and built themselves a network of trenches.

We smashed through them and Mech / Infantry cleaned up the trenches behind us. It was crazy, not much burns in the desert however anything that could did that night from horizon to horizon.

7th ID colors were retired -- for a second time -- and the unit folded into a unit at Ft. Lewis...after my time at Ord.
