Outside cities and towns here, you just have to be at least 150 feet from a road, building, non-involved person or animal and then have at it. It does not matter if you are 20 miles from an outhouse--pop a cap and get arrested in some counties. The way that I use to shoot with my buddies while a teenager would get kids shot by a swat team today. One time a cop came up to us. After a short talk, he just said to be careful then left. We were always very safety minded--while firing hundreds of rounds. Where I live now I need to drive about 15 minutes (in any direction) and have legal open range shooting. In an adjacent county, the one with most of the people of Nevada, there are 2 outdoor ranges--a sad joke. Owning weapons without the ability to master those is not very useful. The USA needs more gun/rifle ranges. |
