I still have my gloves & N95 masks from the last big scare. I need to buy some fresh alcohol wipes though.

If it got to the situation, whereby those items were a real need for you, we would all of been in curfew and lockdown well before then.

That is, IF our governments could be bothered to save us. If this was no the case, you might wish you were dead anyway.

I don't completely agree here. We can be protecting ourselves the moment we know ebola is anywhere near. Wearing protection any time we go out in public, for example.

Last time we had an uptick in ebola cases, it became harder to find the N95 masks, though gloves were pretty much available. To have them on hand is best, and to be prepared to use them at the drop of a case of ebola is better yet.

I think martial law might come into play once it arrives here, meaning it's best to have already on hand everything your household needs in food and water. People in charge of things, like municipal water systems, garbage collection, much law enforcement, even nuclear plant technicians, will choose to stay home and take care of their own families, so we will be without anything we have come to depend upon, very early in the epidemic/pandemic.

Have in mind that you will stay home, keep your family safe, and rely on what you already have stored.

The world needs to know this, NOW!! This is appalling - and really needs publicity - if you can tweet it and get it started? I don't have an account there, by choice, but this is a time when somebody needs to tell the world by word of mouth through tweeting and every other way you can! In fact, a thread with that title might grab the MSM that visit here looking for their news!

UN names new 'Ebola czar' for growing DRC outbreak

May 23, 2019

The United Nations (UN) today announced the creation of an emergency Ebola response coordinator, a role that officials hope will tackle the security and political challenges facing the response efforts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo's (DRC's) 10-month-long Ebola outbreak.

The UN appointed David Gressly, MBA, currently the UN's deputy special representative for peacekeeping missions in the DRC, to the post. Gressly is expected to work closely with the World Health Organization (WHO).

Battle to combat Ebola outbreak in the Congo 'is failing' as death toll passes 1,200 mark and damning figures show 100 people a week are catching the killer virus

24 May 2019

The Ebola epidemic in the central African nation is getting worse by the month

Health workers are refusing to wear protective gear out of fear of being attacked

Families are angry they cannot bury their dead relatives in traditional manners

Around one in every four deaths recorded has happened in the past three weeks

It can be transmitted between humans through blood, secretions and other bodily fluids of people - and surfaces - that have been infected.

You are naive to think it hasn't been, and that the weaponization tests were not the start of the first epidemic a few years ago.
 Quoting: Pooka

I think it survives long enough to be transmissable in a sneeze zone.....but that would be the feature a weaponizer would focus on most.
Thats what has made it such a joke. You had to chase em down and shoot em up to get em and only another 10 billion later, at least as far as a sneeze if its virulent and hits a mucous membrane fast!
(I would take goond and a chainsaw to get my money back)

But there has been a spook all along that this one seems different but no one is real precise on "how?"

But its still a hollywood presentation and prepare for supply shortages is the thing to do. Government stunts and savages are a much larger threat to you than the guiness book of world records most failed bio weapon effort.

A great deal of the time it is spread over there by family members at funerals..jay

They insist of laying the bodies out for viewing....for a few days....while friends and family visit and hug, caress and kiss the corpse to say goodbye.

They've tried to stop them from doing this, but they'll go so far as to steal the corpse and do it anyways.

Ebola Outbreak in DR Congo Might Turn Into An Ebola Pandemic

May 25, 2019

The chaos in DR Congo may fuel an Ebola pandemic

The potential for a new outbreak has been deemed to be one of the most complex health emergencies in the world and WHO is already looking forward to the creation of an effective strategy which should hamper or reduce the severity of such a development. The consequences of an unchecked Ebola rampage could be quite dire in the long run.

Texas A&M, Scowcroft Institute Share Pandemic Policy Recommendations With U.S. Officials

A white paper presented in Washington, D.C. today at the 3rd Annual Pandemic & Biosecurity Forum outlines strategies to improve pandemic and biosecurity preparedness and response in the face of infectious diseases.

Key recommendations from the report include:

Designate senior-level White House leadership for pandemic response and pandemic preparedness

Donor and host nations must continue investments in health systems strengthening at the community level with specific attention to Global Health Security Agenda related priorities

Host nations must reinforce and rethink the critical role of community health workers, religious leadership, and cultural factors in epidemic response

Building trust between stakeholders of pandemic preparedness and response is crucial

Place more value on applied interdisciplinary work within university reward structures

Require strong national surveillance systems that help detect and monitor trends and risk factors for antimicrobial resistance; and

Multi-sector coordination and whole-of-government planning, aimed at building resilient health systems guided by the “One Health” approach, can advance efforts to integrate human, animal, and environmental sectors in pandemic preparedness.

EBOLA CRISIS: Battle to combat Congo outbreak ‘is FAILING’ as death toll passes 1,200 mark

The killer disease is now spiralling out of control, with grieving locals in the central African Republic now unable to hold regular funerals for their loved ones because victims have to be buried by medical workers in highly protective suits. This is causing anger because of the disruption of age-old traditions in the region, and as a result is prompting distraught families to shun the aid of medics and specialist consultants. Recent figures show more than 100 new cases of the disease are being recorded every week.

Armed guards may protect health workers as ebola threatens to spread beyond Congo

Health workers in the Democratic Republic of Congo may be assigned armed guards as they try to stop an outbreak of the deadly ebola virus from spreading across borders.

“The ebola outbreak is at a tipping point,” Rory Stewart, Britain’s international development secretary, told The Sunday Times. “It is no longer just a medical emergency. It is a political and a security crisis. This disease not only poses a threat to the region in Africa, but ultimately potentially to Europe and the UK.”

"At this point the same could be said of our ability to put humans in space at all. We destroyed the technology about 6 years ago, so now we (as in the United States) no longer have the ability to put any humans in space. There are no working space shuttles, there is no working infrastructure with a functional vehicle capable of putting humans in space. Companies including SpaceX and Boeing are trying to restore that capability by inventing new technologies that are hopefully easier to reuse, but at the moment the United States is grounded and has been for 6 years now."

Rwanda gets prepared amid Ebola outbreak in DR Congo

In the context of the on-going Ebola outbreak in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Rwanda security forces held an Ebola simulation exercise to ensure preparedness of any emergency outbreak from neighboring country. The exercise dubbed “Kumira Ebola Simulation Exercise” (Prevent Ebola) was held at the Rugerero Heath Centre in Rubavu, the military statement made available Sunday to APA in Kigali said.

This second medical simulation exercise tested Rwandan military medical service personnel and other stakeholders on the readiness and general conduct during a probable Ebola outbreak in Rwanda, it said.

The Ministry of Health has assured the general public that Rwanda is on red alert to tackle Ebola from spreading to the country, after a number of cases were reported in the neighbouring DR Congo.
