I threw away hundreds of cans of years old soup that my brother stocked up for Y2K. Prep all you want but actually eat the crap before it goes bad.

Such waste. Meanwhile people all over the place are starving.

When you are under pressure and that pressure is removed you become depressed.

Anyone who preps is depressed. You can't have one without the other.

If you're prepping for some imminent disaster that will collapse civilisation for an unknown time duration, then you are doing it wrong.

Prepping is a lifestyle. You don't prep for a parcticular thing, you prep for your future. That means you have enough food to cover unexpected things, you have some alternative currencies such as physical metals, you have essential items so that if you lose your source(s) of income you can sustain yourself for a period of time without being destitute.

That is prepping.

Additionally, if things did go really bad, you would not need to be living off 1000 cans of beans because wild edibles are everywhere.

I just want enough food/water/ammo to get me thru the first 2 months so I can watch everything burn.

Then I can die at peace knowing I outlasted 95% of the population.
