It's actually a small jar, that was coated in bronze, silver, and then gold, but that's not the point. When it was originally opened, all the evils of the world were unleashed. It was closed before hope escaped. Now every story, fable, translation from the Greek texts say that it is a good thing hope was kept inside the jar. That's bullshit, think about it. Let's keep hope locked up but release evil? My purpose in life is to find and open the jar and thus release hope unto all mankind. Wish me luck.

Hope was released as well as the evils of the world. They opened it to release Hope because their was no Hope. Without Evil to motivate it and drive it Good stagnates and no more possibilities exist. Good hits a dead end, a lovely one, but ultimately boring. There was no Hope for the Future until they released the Evils. Balance is the answer.
