It's big! Our's was a 7.8 and that shook for a minute violently and this is 2x stronger apparently.

Early days yet, is that area remote or populated?

Largest #earthquake of the year strikes in a rural area of Peru, a magnitude 8.0. The earthquake has been felt across hundreds of miles. Rarely, this sort earthquake has occurred well inside the plate. Awaiting further info.

It happen in the middle of nowhere. But in saying that plenty of little villages by the rivers could be in danger of landslides.

Most witness testimonies are saying Strong and Long Lasting

Just because it isn't a city of millions you shouldn't discount the damage and loss of life.

It is listed as 100km deep at this stage.

One footage I seen was a guy saying it’s moving too much too much... shaking for 2 minutes. He knew it was bad
