I would still like to know why we can't just print a million dollars for everyone and turn this place into a utopia.

It would fix all of the problems right?

Taxes are what run a government, but wealth redistribution to those that won't work is absolute theft and morally wrong.

It would not fix our problems.
What would fix our problems is redistributing the wealth back down the totem pole.

The government in collusion with big business created policies that redistributes the wealth to the top. I say we end those policies.

Homelessness isn't fixed by throwing money at it.

Homelessness is fixed by ending addiction, domestic violence and other social issues.

You're wrong, homelessness is fixed by throwing money at it.

If people choose to be homeless, then so be it. But ending homelessness means that they don't have to be homeless if they don't want to be.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76638889

The truth is is that the majority of people who become homeless do NOT want to be homeless..... but are homeless because they have no other alternative.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76638889

Most people dont want handouts and throwing money at it wont make it go away. People have been priced out of the property market. also too many landlords are charging insane rents.

There are already enough empty houses to solve most of the problem. Lower house prices and limit how many properties one person can own. That will level the playing field a little bit.

Only the sick, elderly etc need subsidies.

Fortunately we can rely on decades of data to find out what happens when you give homeless people, who are almost entirely low iq, low skilled, and/or mentally unwell, "free" housing.

You get violent, impoverished, deteriorating ghettos and millions more low iq, low skilled, and/or mentally unwell people who now EXPECT free housing, food, healthcare, sympathy, equal treatment for unequal effort, and who are encouraged by the enemy political parties to vote.

Your plan is fantastic if your goal is to destroy civilization.

The homeless population has been growing thanks to Globalism.

After the 2008 Financial Crisis, it skyrocketed.
That tells us many people did not choose to be homeless but the system made it so.

Putting them in prison will cost more than giving them housing.

Doing nothing will eventually lead to a serious disease outbreak that will cost us a lot.

We could kill them off, but the day we go down that avenue, is the day I welcome another country coming in a liberating us because we have gone over the line.

Hmmm, it appears our homeless problem is a direct result of our current form of society. A society based on greed with 2 separate set of laws, one set for us and one set for the oligarchs.

Everything is related.

Re: With just 2% of the current US military spending budget, the US gov't can end homelessness in the USA
I am homeless :(. There is a housing shortage. Charities I have approached don’t seem phased by my plight in the least. I contacted one church in Titusville but if you do not attend every service and take part in their programs, they shun you. Pews were mostly empty. Pastor was cocky and intimidating. I went to library to talk to a foodstamp worker and was pointed in her direction but she was tied up for an hour and I was working so went to front desk to ask about an appointment and the lady simply ignored me to a point I had no choice but to leave. They say: Do This. Do That. Go here. Go there. And when I do, there is either nothing there, “we don’t serve single senior citizens, jus women with children, or they tell me something different or i don’t qualify. It is like the Twilight Zone. Talked to other people living in the park, and it is the same with them.
