(On Land) It is not stopping I pray we can endure things to come... This new round of bad storms is not only bad for those that have to go through them, but the flooding is stressing the levees. Eventually all of that water comes down through Louisiana. [link to www.lsuagcenter.com (secure)] Right now the Bonnet Carre spillway has 168 bays open, but the toll is high on the Dolphins and fish in the Gulf of Mexico. The last I head, 80 dolphins have died and so have a lot of other types of marine life. The Morganza spillway is more than likely going to open on Sunday June 2nd. It will help lower the river levels, but again it will affect the Gulf of Mexico marine life and also wildlife in the path. Just yesterday there was at least 100 cows grazing on the dry side of the Morganza. They also have deer and plenty of other wildlife on the side that will be flooded. The Army Corps plan is to only open one bay of the Morganza on Sunday to give the wildlife a chance to get to higher ground, but there is a lot of water just waiting to be released. |

It only takes a dam failure , an earthquake or more stormes to be unprecidented |
