Sit the kid infront of the window & watch the birds swoop down to pick up the yarn & fly it up to the tree to build their nests. Explain to the child how the mama bird will soon have babies & she's making a home for them to live in. Take a sheet of blank paper & two pencils and sit at a table. You take one pencil and the sheet of paper and ask him to make a small, simple design....could be anything....a straight line, and "x", a squiggly line....anything. Then you grab your pencil and take whatever simple little doddle they made and turn it into a drawing of whatever comes to your mind. When you're done, turn the paper over, make your own doodle and now they have to turn that into a picture of their own. We used to do things like that when I was a kid in MI when we'd get snowed in for days at a time with no running water or electricity and we'd already read every book in the house and were sick of playing board games. LOL |

Some simple, cheap and effective ways (you only really need the first three) to keep a kid occupied from bugging you too much are as follows : #1 a book/box of strike anywhere matches or a cigarette lighter #2 rubber band/s #3 magnet #4 a spring powered mouse trap #5 drawing pin/s #5 blow up balloon #6 magnifying glass #7 sharp knife, preferably an automatic #8 cigar cutter #0... etc. The list can be as creative as you are. More exotic items to be included could be chemicals - a can lighter fuel, for example? |

LOL I used to tell my kids I'm not their entertainment, find something that you want to do or I'll find some work for you You have to train your mind to be stronger than your emotions or you will lose yourself every time |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 77580451 United States 05/27/2019 09:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's a bank holiday in the UK right now and my 7 year old is saying "bored bored". What the fuck do you with them? My 4 year old seems fine playing with his toys but the 7 year old won't do anything for longer than half an hour before saying he's bored. I asked him if he wants to go the park he says no. He has completed his school homework already. Played a couple of board games, played on the ps4, played on his tablet, played in his tent. What else? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75931984 go outside and do a sport |

He’ll learn that if he says he’s bored that you’ll find something for him to do that he might not like too much. |
