Saying that white settlers acquired the land fairly is a big lie. Even though I have no interest in defending black South Africans, I just have to say that I know. While going through rural South Africa 13 years ago, I was very appalled by what I saw. The whites herded the blacks to small portions of rocky land and took over all the land that could be farmed. I was surprised that the situation was still like that after eleven years of black rule then. What I saw helped me to understand how bad apartheid really was.

The reason why black South Africans have not quickly taken back South Africa from whites most likely will be due to fear of the economic implications. The way the blacks were herded by the whites for centuries made it impossible for the blacks to learn modern ways of agriculture, business, etc. If the black politicians hurriedly took back South Africa, the blacks will not be able to handle anything properly.

For example, black South Africans are amazed that Nigerians could manage petit businesses. They just are not exposed in a lot of things. They were herded like animals for decades.

You can talk "tough guy" behind your keyboard, but imagine being 8% of a population that is completely lawless and out of control. You'll lose, so your best bet to conform at any level that makes you comfortable. If 50,000 whites stood up, which is more than 1% of the population, even then it would be difficult to fight.

I come from there, my dad could never leave. My family are white farmers. Some are extremely naive and others are completely freaked out. My mother's side are the Boers and only a few were able to get out. My father's side Scottish, but happened to be 5 or 6 generations of white farmers. Nearly all are still there as well.


Eventually if you're suppressed long enough you succumb to a very unique way of life. And you can talk "tough guy" all you want, but unless you're on a suicide mission, you've got to do what you can to survive.

No one on this side will ever understand, but I can tell you one thing, I am so blessed to know my mother was able to immigrate to America. But I am starting to see some very interesting similarities in how they are programming the population.

I have been looking for a reasonably priced piece of land for decades now and to no avail.
My schooling was in RSA and was often referred to as either a K boetie or K sea dog when K bashing at night was a favorite pastime. Monday morning was a display of baseball bats with teeth marks and accounts of barbarism. In one town the siren at night indicating the coloured africans should be in the location, still went off after 1994.

I regularly hear the K word, N from time to time (more from coloured africans), in family circles and with friends, and believe it or not even at pubs where they sometimes look around before saying it.

Remember it is said that revenge is best served cold.

Pity you see it only from one side...there is a reason for racism in this country, from both sides...the old SA did not work, but the new one isn't either. We've been going downhill since 1980...more rapidly since 1990, going hyperbole since
Zuma got control. It would be a miracle if there is an improvement.

South Africa’s ruling African National Congress (ANC) has amended the constitution to legalize land seizure without paying for it. The move is “not only about correcting a great historical injustice; it is also an absolute economic necessity,” according to President, Cyril Ramaphosa.

This time though, the proposed land reforms include expropriation without compensation, and this has stoked fears among white South Africans. Radical activists feel empowered and ready to take land by force triggering a heated debate about whether the plan would really help heal South Africa’s unequal society.

If you killed 4000 white farmers in mass 25 years ago and robbed, raped, tortured and murdered another 40,000 whites in their homes, you would have had a war.

If you told whites 25 years ago that they would be handing their beautiful farm land over to incompetent government to nationalize, you would have a war.
