After the flood, once the waters had receded, God said to Noah and his sons, ‘Be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth.’ Do these words strictly mean that to obey God, humans must reproduce? In reality, we can attribute a broader meaning to them: give birth to children with a heart full of love and a luminous intellect, this is how you will expand your power on earth. What earth? Your own earth, yourself – through your feelings and your thoughts you will cover it with a magnificent generation. When parents have a very intelligent and capable child, who excels in the sciences, the arts, politics, and so on, their influence begins to spread everywhere. This is also a way for parents to populate the earth: they populate it through their children and the successes they achieve. Similarly, all those who live in love and wisdom populate the whole world with bright thoughts and warm feelings: these children spread good seeds everywhere and improve the lot of all humans.
