It is a good question for this reason I had prepared a very long packet for my family in regards to "prepping" or "stocking up". I think I still have this somewhere on my other computer.

First of all, learning to "rotate your inventory" is always very helpful because you are getting used to understanding how to do this with canned foods or whatever you have. Here is a list of a "year supply"... Here is n affordable list of what you need.

You can not become an expert over night but the more prepared you are, the better off you are.

Then you want to read up on survival. There are plenty of books about it but here are some noteworthy ones.. One of which I have is this book here:

When humans think about survival they often figure it will be something like "The Hunger Games" or where you will be thrown into a cinematic situation, especially for those who are not experienced with this.. If you live in California please don't go into the desert. You will not survive there.. The desert is extremely harsh I know this because I have camped in Joshua Tree, in the Mojave Desert...

You don't really need to be thinking about deserts though anyway...

With the situations that are coming here, we will do what we can. There are many here who definitely know a thing or two, maybe more here at GLP. I am sure they too can provide information in this thread..

As far as fighting. Yes. It is always good to learn self defense no matter what. Jujutsu is one of the best forms of martial arts to learn. Plus you will get into shape.

Planting gardens is a lot of work and if you would like to try it you can go ahead and get yourself a "soil testing kit" they can easily be found at a Lowes. This will determine the PH of the soil and will tell you what you can and can not plant according to the season you are in. There are also of course plenty of books you can find about it in Barnes and nobles..
(tip) if you order a book from Barnes and Nobles in the store it will be cheaper ;)

You can also find a lot of source on the internet too. Just check your sources if you can..

If you live in areas where an Earthquake can strike read up on how to prepare for those.. There's just nothing worse than being stuck in a situation where you are not ready...

One more thing. I do not know what will happen if and when these demons will be waling around here, obviously that would be a bad situation. We will have to see and in the mean time if you do find yourself encountering one well fight or run, and hide.
