But ask God about praying. He will explain it to you, if you ask.

One key - God will not be reduced to a magic spell. A chant, or something. God is God, and will remain God. But don't worry... He already proved that He loves you by sending Jesus to die for our sins... so it's OK.

Many times, God does say Yes... but it may entail a time of waiting first.

If you really think about it, prayers are the ultimate form of a violation of free will.

You are either praying for someone else to do something they wouldn't normally do. Say like get healthy. They will not make the personal effort to get healthy so someone prays that 'bamb' they are healthy. Or someone isn't doing something you want .. mutter a few words and 'bamb' they change their mind.

It is the ultimate form of laziness or denial of this reality. Instead of accepting facts or getting off of your ass to make the changes yourself, you end up just muttering a few words.

I don't think it is very good for the soul.

So what happens when 2 people pray for the exact opposite outcome.

Say one person is praying the other notices them and falls in love. Where the other one prays they would just be left alone from the religious stalker?

Who will god honor and why?

Or how about 2 armies that were fooled into fighting each other for some oligarch.

Both armies pray until the early morning light for victory.

Which one will god answer? Which one will receive favor?

If you were god, would you simply give an adoring subject their harts desire? Or would you rather them work for what they want through the gifts you have already endowed them with?

If you gave them what they are asking for by muttering a few words, would they ever become self sufficient? Would they ever learn? Why would they ever get off of their ass to accomplish something?

Or if you were god, would you rather people sweat and perspire for what they truly wanted?

If I were god, I would be pissed. Creating this wonderful reality and giving mankind numerous gifts to become more than anything else in this reality. Then they endlessly complain. bitch and moan ... bitch and moan ....

Or would you rather have a creation that took the wonderful gifts you have already passed out and accomplished something on their own...wondrous acts of the will and then at the end of it, after asking for nothing along the way, gave you praise for simply giving them the chance and praising you for this reality and for the simple breath itself?
