OP, thank you for sharing your story. My mom passed May 3rd, and I have been struggling to get over her being gone.
She was in so much pain. I so want to believe she is now in the peace you have described. Makes me feel better to believe she is. Again, thank you.

Re: No Joke: I died and after 10 minutes with NO vitals, I was resuscitated.
OP
I used to spring a trap on revived souls
pop-up in their thread and yell "You didn't make it OP. You Died. Welcome to the World of the Dead!"
I feel only mild shame for that, in retrospect.

your glimpse beyond sounds so silky smooth and seamless a transition
i wish i had opioids and handlers to coax me and soothe me and revitalize me, bring me around, pamper me and nurse me back to health. So you must understand how I ...well...I have some metaphorical road-rash and re-entry scars from rough handling.

mine was without blood-loss but similar 10 mins plus K.O. turning blue not breathing.
i had to get up and fight people after too.
but the scoundrels eloped and
I have no word-papers or certificates
no stamp of approval to signify my angelic ascension, redemption, absolution and glorious raising from near death.
There was no flashes, smoke, glows, flickering lights or wavering of the space time continuum from the brief harried accounts.
I did manage to scare them all quite menacingly touting words of consolation regarding my sudden change in demeanor, having had a partial separation of realities, and re-clocking back in and waking up on a counter -top to some freak in my face, and people yelling warnings at me he was armed, not understanding how I had been fkd with.
and no witness of criminals who went on to bigger and badder crimes, rather than come clean for purpose of validating my invisible complex of internal injuries.

anyhow I did alot of independent work and may have both triggered my own experience in some sort of inverted reverse engineered backstory that was folding through time and afflicting circumstances leading to further points of being spliced and separated, inadvertently extending my departure and vacation on the cosmic love boat, and exacerbating my physical, mental, psychological injury.

but I got alot of static, overlapping storylines, shredded up out-takes, alot centered around turds assaulting my character which was being sent into a raging frenzy, tossing hypothetical planets around, triggering particle cannons, like little hammer and big hammer, doing catastrophic damage and turning my mind into a swiss-cheeze mausoleum of haunted tunnels and decrepit, negative prognostications
trying to slip the grasp of their evil tentacles, centered around people not far removed from my presence of no consequence to the scheme of things all blown out of proportion to hazardous toxic levels.

and I was just wondering how your mind and thoughts feel, if there seems too many overlapping realities playing out and sort of a painful crunching of time in the thought centers making it a furrious thing to control temper and wildly afflicting the bodies ability to function.

does it all seem to bee a too vivid distracting overlay that morphs and shifts over time playing with your memories, changing your thoughts, a little manipulative, a bit controlling.

plus my experience is complete fabrication of mentally ill bad monkey child who smokes and drinks and swears, pick my nose, and wont go to Dispneyland and worship Mickey Mouse.

I suspect sheds and elements from multiple source possibly otherworld but possibly having localized and real connections too, maybe installed, maybe also prototypes and some sort of progressive model as we fulfill humanities manifest destiny

maybe I don't have questions just want ted to intrude and chime in and say here-here me too.
I third the motion. Something goings on.

OP,

Good to hear you are back with us. Whatever you do, do not tell us what it was like over on the other side, because thats what folks came to this thread to hear about. Just keep them in suspense and tell them nothing ..... lol

I was waiting to see if it was safe to post here...LOL.

It was the most perfect peace you can imagine times a million. I was unconscious at the moment of my passing but I awakened - with a start - when I died. The first thing I heard myself say was, "My heart has stopped. The medical staff failed to save me."

It was kind of a surprise to hear myself talk because I knew that I had died.

I floated for some time and then was taken into a brilliantly lit white room, and it was in the white room that I was told that I had to go back. I wasn't happy about this. I felt such peace and I never wanted that peace to end.

But I was told that I must return.

My husband killed himself three years ago, and I was really lost. I had been miserable and I was GLAD that this hard life was over. I was told that when I came back, my life would get much better - and it has - but there are still some hard days. More than anything, I'm not sure what I'm doing here.

Re: No Joke: I died and after 10 minutes with NO vitals, I was resuscitated.
This happened several months ago. I'm 60 years old. It was a "medical mistake" that was made during a very minor procedure and the doctor screwed up.

Perhaps the doctor thought he'd fixed the mistake, but something busted lose and I ended up back in an ER where they made a few more mistakes which resulted in my dying from exsanugination (blood loss). I lost "more than 40%" of my blood and my heart stopped.

I was resuscitated after more than 10 minutes with no vital signs. If you'd told me that I was in heaven for several HOURS, I would have believed you. I went to heaven and had a phenomenal experience however...

Heaven sent me back, and when I came back, I was healthier than ever. Several medically documented health problems were gone, to the astonishment of the doctors.

A spiritual being told me that I needed to come back, but didn't offer an explanation as to why. I loved what I saw "over there" and felt the most perfect peace you could ever imagine. I wasn't "nearly dead." I was completely dead, and my heart had stopped for 10+ minutes.

My kids are grown, I'm retired, and I'm not sure why or how I got saved when other people don't.

It's pretty confusing. I'm not sure what it is that I'm supposed to do with the rest of my life.

Many thanks For your post Hope! God bless you. I can feel it. I'm a Nam vet - had a unending desire to die - prayed to God - was 'taken up' (don't know what else to call it) had no medical issues, and believe me, I'm not righteous. Just like you said about peace and love - wanted to stay, but had to return, saw what was described to me 'telepathically' as my future place, or that was what I understood. It was unbelievably beautiful/peaceful/colorful. Things I heard clearly, are now part of my conscienceness but I am not able to articulate them - like it is blocked, or there are no words. I look at death of others so differently now - their troubles are over, but those who are left behind hurt so badly. While I was 'there', I experienced what I would call an angel on each shoulder who moved me - I felt their presence, and understood them, but couldn't discern their shape. Pray for truth in our world - we need it desparately.

Sometimes, it's not about the "big" things that we have to do in life that matters. Instead, it's about the little things. Case in point, it is about the relationships that we establish on earth. It's about becoming the best parent that you can become, about becoming the best spouse that you can become, about becoming the best grandparent that you can become, about becoming the best friend that you can become, etc.

Think about it, we can't take anything with us when we die EXCEPT the relationships that we established on earth and the memories associated with those relationships. We are here on earth to love and create lasting and wonderful relationships. In the end, that is all that is really going to matter.

Consequently, don't focus on the big things, focus on creating more lasting memories with your loved ones. So, spend quality time with your spouse, your grandkids, and your other loved ones. If you do this, at the end of life's journey, you will be happy and blessed as well as those around you.

Awesome experience. I posted here a few months ago to this. The same thing happened to me recently. It was not 10 minutes. My experience differs a little. But what was crazy about mine was that I remember everything that happened around me as I was dead. And I went from panic to complete peace. Saw no light or anything like that. But had a feeling that there was something much larger out there then life on earth. Even it was just a conscious energy, it was huge enough for me to never question again if something happens to us after death. Even if it was false, it was strong enough to change the way I see death.
 Quoting: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

That peaceful feeling means you were out of your body, even if you didn't go to the other side. Outside of the body is a peace unknown until it's experienced. I experienced it once when my heart stopped.

You do not stay in your body when conditions can't maintain the life needed to house the soul in a body.

Not entirely. After your heart has stopped the brain can still live for several minutes.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77520047

You will not stay inside your body once your heart stops.

The brain's only real function is to keep the body alive but it isn't alive enough to house the soul once the heart stops pumping blood.

My heartbeat got slower and slower until I began to pass out. During that process, all I saw in my mind were squares of light gray that progressively turned darker until all went black and I was out of my body and I was up near the ceiling looking down at all the people crowded around me.

The heart is the life of the body. No soul will stay inside once the heart stops.

I here a lot of stories like this I'm kind of skeptical, here's why.

I'm always believed that the door to heaven is threw the 'narrow' gate. In other words...it's not easy. I don't know for sure but could these experiences be a part of the anti heaven forces by giving you a false sense of security?

OP, are you a man or a woman?
 Quoting: tcs

I think the OP stated that her husband killed himself 3 years ago.
"My husband killed himself three years ago, and I was really lost."
 Quoting: Deplorable Busterhymen

Yes, I am a woman. And a widow. Shortly after he killed himself, I posted here about the despair and depression I was experiencing, and some kind-hearted fellow widow responded with words that saved me. Her husband had killed himself soon after their marriage, and she told me, "I get it." She also said that it took "about three years" to get back to something approaching normal.

I printed out her post and put it on my mirror and read it every morning. She said that I would survive my husband's suicide and she was right.

My "death" occurred at 2-1/2 years after my husband' suicide, and it really was a reboot.

As to the other questions:

Someone asked, "What did the angels look like?" I couldn't say that there was a look, beyond being made of light and love, and that's not a look. I guess. LOL. When they talked to me, it was more than just words; their words came with an infusion of knowledge and THAT was very powerful.

After I was back, I could still feel them everywhere. Someone else said, "Maybe it's like another sense opened up, enabling you to experience them" and I'd say that's a very good analogy.

The angels (or spiritual beings) were the epitome of light and love and peace. They talked to me, they made me laugh, and they sang me the most beautiful songs you can imagine. I told them, "I'm not going to be able to remember this song" and they said, "We know. Just enjoy it now."

As a consequence of this Temporary Death Experience, everything shifted. I saw the world in a very different way.

As soon as I returned from the hospital, I started selling off my furniture and possessions. Donated everything I couldn't sell. Then I sold my shiny new car. Next, I sold my house. Everything changed. Now, I live in a rented room and drive a used Prius. I've never felt so free in my life.

Peace and light is all that matters and it's all that I want and need.

And someone else here recommended the book, "Return to Omega." Thank you so much for that recommendation. It's exactly what I need. Coming back to this place has left me a little confused. What's real is what you experience after your heart stops. This earth thing is quite a big show.

And I'm still sorting it all out.

Thanks for supportive comments. They mean the world to me. As to the unsupportive comments, one day, you'll see for yourself! :D

I won't be able to respond again until late tonight. Sorry, but I have to run!
 Quoting: Hope_Full

All around amazing, OP. I'm so sorry you endured the suicide of your husband. I have PTSD and can only imagine the pain. I'm glad you've pushed beyond that and, perhaps, that's why you went through this experience because it sounds like it saved you on many levels.

Very touching abo0ut the GLPer's post you printed out. We never know how important (good or bad) can be to another.

I can so relate about your getting rid of stuff. I've been trying and it's so much work! I will get there, though, and know I'll experience that same freedom you talked about.

I'm so glad you're posting. This is a beautiful thread. Love that about the angels and their song to you.
In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined:

With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world,
And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor.
Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world
And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator.

Trust me on this one. Do NOT become a organ donor...
And if you do think about it. keep stories like this in mind, but not only that..ask people that actually work with organ donors if they are donors and also read up on the procedures.
and dont forget... organs are only useful from non-dead people...
 Quoting: T-Man

I agree. I work in healthcare and think the entire organ donation thing is an abomination. Families don't know what they're getting into when they agree to donate their loved one's organs. The body can be kept "alive" until harvesting (I hate that term) is done. Which means there can be no burial until every thing useful is removed.

I find the whole process to be ghoulish. Don't even get me started on organ sales.
 Quoting: stillnotINK

dont the "bodys" have to get tied down because the body "naturally" resists? as far as i know anesthesia also isnt required in every country.

imagine being declared brain dead (when we dont even know what "dead" really is) and then someone taking your donated cornea. urgh

Re: No Joke: I died and after 10 minutes with NO vitals, I was resuscitated.
Firstly, Thank you OP so much for Sharing your Experience.

I am not aware of "Dying" but have had multiple & Similar Heavenly, Divine and Greatly Euphoric Experiences. and still to this day feel more connected to the other side of this reality. It changes your life exponentially and is as much of a curse as it is a blessing. I don't talk about it much since people think I'm making it up for telling my story yet they go to church every Sunday and claim to believe. Though I take a Christian Belief I am not convinced that the other side is truly a christian reality. that is OK as there is something truly wonderful on the other side of the veil.

I too have had Vivid, crystal clear and non verbal communication with someone or something on the other side. though I knew I was awakening and becoming aware of my new surroundings and became very excited, overjoyed and completely at peace (very euphoric) of my release from this reality, I seem to have caught my overseer off guard. I remember a concerning chuckle almost like what are you doing here your not suppose to be here now and then they gently pushed me back down into this reality communicating it's not your time yet. I vividly remember begging and pleading to be able to remain and all that was communicated was a comforting "all in due time". lol I never saw this entity/being the only thing I recall was an intense gap of white light between the two realities as though i was plugged/unplugged (detached if you may) into this one. None of this was linear it was like an instant flood of all knowing.

Something is up because I have this profound awareness that I am now in the spotlight and there are a lot of spiritual eyes on me. and they subtly are letting me know that they are there observing, guiding comforting.

When I step back from the trials and tribulations of this reality and quietly observe what has unfolded it become blatenly obvious that I am not in control of this ride and am only here as an interactive observer of this journey. sometime It seems like I get to choose or make choices and other times no matter what choice I make It seems like the choice was already pre-made no matter what I try to do and then I just relinquish and move on with the flow.

Unfortunately this Gift/Curse of awareness comes with great responsibility. And I have no idea how to wield it. Though I do share occasionally and reluctantly (due to disbelief of others). I believe that this awareness is meant to be a personal empowerment not to be necessarily shared verbatim but more of a personal graduation of ones spiritual enlightenment and may or may not be meant to be specifically shared with others. if it is meant to be it is only to be a light house for other travelers on their journey. You become the becon of light for others to follows. You become an ambassador between this reality and the spiritual. (all without a written instruction manual)

if you have an opportunity with an open your mind I recommend this read this from
another GLP thread as I believe it is all relevant and may give us a peek of who we may truly be: The enlightenment, a small book from 1982 that will BLOW YOUR MIND. No clues on the author origins. Puzzling.

It's a small free book called "The Enlightment" By D.Alan Holmes. Published in 1982. The book has a weird writing style and is narrate as if it happened. It's not the kind of book you read like others. The book will bring you into deep though and do a little "reality check". In this book you will learn how our reality is an illusion, and what an illusion actually is...

Wonderful post and I'm thankful you shared your experience. This was the perfect time and place to do so :) Will read that old GLP thread, too!

Pay attention. She said her husband killed himself 3 years ago, and that her children are all grown.

First, welcome back!

And I am so sorry you lost your husband. But knowing where he is now, perhaps you can feel some comfort and peace about his passing?

LOVE this --

<< It was the most perfect peace you can imagine times a million. >>

As far as "what you should be doing here," you are already touching people (including me) by sharing your story. Letting people know that unending peace awaits us will energize and inspire many. We can live our best lives here by treating others as we wish to be treated.

Many Near-Death Experiencers report that our "purpose" here on Earth involves listening to what's in our hearts and taking the next logical steps each day, each moment.

I also believe that bringing that energy of perfect peace into THIS world is possible, perhaps just by knowing it's there and tapping into it? The veil is lifting, and stories like yours are causing an Awakening.

Thanks again for sharing!

Re: No Joke: I died and after 10 minutes with NO vitals, I was resuscitated.
This is a great story! Thank you for sharing.

The one commonality among all stories like yours is the incredible peace felt after dying.

Even if you don't know why you are here, at least you know that it serves a purpose, or else you wouldn't be here.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76782929

Maybe this thread was the purpose. ?

I have two theories. Either we are here serving a life sentence for wrong doing or wrong thinking on the other side, or maybe we are making a movie for all of us to see once it's done.

Imagine everything you do,say, think being watched by trillions of people/beings.

Or God is just playing with his SIM CITY.
 Quoting: Pilgrim001

My Higher Self showed that movie. The experience was short but miraculous, always with me. I was very under the weather and walking up the stairs to go lie down. And she stepped out of me, and could see her with I guess my third eye, or insight, but clear as day, and knew she was me. She said in a very uplifting way, and had this persona of lightness, light hearted, happiness, upliftedness, and knew in this moment of recognition she was everything rolled up into one, mother, priestess or spiritual being, scientist, artist, teacher, mathemetician, everything, counselor, very much counselor and with love and great spirits and humor.

And she said, Where do you think you are? Do you ever really leave home?

I was walking up the stairs, and each step from the moment on grew lighter and more energetic and healed.

I started seeing curtains/veils.

First it was a country kitchen with a window curtain, and sunshine was streaming in, then next was lying in a kind of hospital bed, with semi sheer curtains that revealed my family, who had passed on, my beloved grandfather, standing just beside the bed, just out of sight.

The last was the movie: these big red curtains parted, like the old fashioned movie theater I grew up with, and the movie of our lives was playing.

And I knew instantly, don't give into anger and road rage, don't leave that if you have awareness. There is cause and effect, great understanding and counseling/psychology on the other side, so when everyone understands they simply cannot fall Nor can they harm anyone, but only help. They understand everyone.

But you don't want to be embarrassed or feel bad, so its all recorded, like a tapestry, everyone gets the spotlight, everyone in existence is the lead character, the star, for a time, all simultaneously and you want to try to be a hero in the infinite, always enduring never ending story, film.
