Or maybe what really happens in real life after death is a lot different from what you think happens based on your religion. Best to keep an open mind to that possibility.

Thank you so much for the very kind words! The only thing that I feel truly led to do (right now) is share the story with others. There's a lot more to the story and all of it is good. But there are no words to describe the peace. It was as though I was enveloped in an actively-comforting, warm, loving peace. The peace wasn't static; it was active. It was so beautiful. So perfect. So profound.

When I was in that white room, I saw a door in front of me and started moving toward it, but was told that I had to go back. I was very disappointed. I ended up back in my body in the blink of an eye and it was surprising to find myself back there.

I had on an oxygen mask, lots of needles (and IVs) stuck in me, and lots of activity all around. The medical staff kept asking me questions to ascertain if there'd been any cognitive decline.

My buddy told me later that they'd called in more than seven people to work on me. I was surrounded!

A few minutes after I was resuscitated, they let my friend back into the room (while they waited for transport), and he said, "Hope, you were scary looking. You were white as a sheet and your lips were dark blue. I never knew skin could be that white."

He was a medic in the Vietnam era, and he said, "Seriously, I've seen corpses that looked better than you looked."

After I was back, the hospital did a million tests and they were surprised to find that I had suffered no damage to my heart or kidneys. The doctors told me that exsanguination followed by heart attack (as I had) typically wreaks havoc with internal organs but that I was unusually healthy.

I told the doctors, "I know. The angels told me that I was going to be fine, despite medical predictions."

And it's true. The angels told me that when I came back, I'd be unusually healthy.

So it seems like a big deal and an amazing story that I should be sharing with others. So - thank you again for your kind words. It means the world to me.

You didn't get 'saved' - you simply experienced reality... Religion clouds peoples' perception/understanding of reality with physical mind-based thoughtforms... This is why it's quite common for people who had NDE's to report being 'less religious' in the months and years following their experiences...

When you encountered the light -- did you feel as though it was a being of light in your presence, like some NDEs describe, or something different?

When you left your body, were you able to see yourself, the hospital room, etc. or was it straight to the other side?

Been there. I still don't know (after 6 years) why I had to come back and what I am supposed to do. The "me" on the other side knew why (and a lot of other things as well), but you don't get to bring the reason-for -your -existence -in -the -physical back when you return. Hopefully I will recognize the reason when confronted with it, and act upon it appropriately. Then I can go back to where I really belong.

I guess that now you know you were purposefully sent back, that is an extra incentive to find out!

Dear friend, I urge you to consider your eternal destiny.

Have you, as I have, sinned in your life? If so, you need God's grace to truly enter heaven. After all, even just one small sin in our lives is enough to make us less perfect than God. We have broken God's law, as we have sinned against him. So, we don't deserve to be with him in Heaven. We deserve the punishment of eternal Hell. God's word - the Bible - says "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."(Romans 3:23) We have a debt to God, but nothing we can do can pay it. We need grace.

Thankfully, Jesus was killed to pay the penalty for people's sins. Jesus is God's son --- and, in that, he is God the Son in human form. God is one God existing in three persons - God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus died and rose from the dead around 2,000 years ago. He's alive today.

My friend, I urge you to use this second chance at life to learn about God. If you believe on Jesus to wash you of your sins and save you from God's penalty, he will do so. He saves purely by grace though faith, as our works cannot save us. My friend, if you recognize you are a sinner like me, trust Jesus to turn you from your sinful ways and save you from sin's eternal penalty. He gives people eternal life. He covers his people's sins so that God the Father no longer sees our sinfulness, but instead sees Jesus' perfect rightousness. The Bible says,"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."(Romans 6:23)

Heaven is a place for God, his angels and his people. Believe on Jesus to save you and you really will see heaven someday. And don't listen, friend, to those who tell you there's any other way to heaven --- even spiritual beings aren't always from God. Trust Jesus. I also urge you to get to a good, Bible-teaching church in your area. Further, I hope you read the Bible yourself. I hope I see you in heaven someday.

The three most important questions a man can ask himself:

Who is God?
Who is man?
and...
What does God want from man?

since you know heaven and the after life are real now based on your experience this are the questions you should try to answer.

Start with the Bible

It's one of the most difficult things for me, being a Christian at this time. I am not holier than thou, I am a poor excuse for a Christian, but I do believe. I need to conduct myself better.

"Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

What interests me in this story, and in all similar stories, is that a person is sent back (in this case OP), for some reason important enough to God to allow this to happen.

So, if it is that important, why did God not intervene in the first place to prevent the death from happening? Assuming these stories are true, which I do, this means that God has a 'hands-off" approach to His creation, God does not micro-manage, in order to allow FREE WILL to run its course.

Seems like God set up the world to operate without micro-managing. Means we're really let loose on our own down here.

My theory is that prayer and ethical living are the LIFELINES that bind us to the great ship of Heaven, and barring that, we really are left to toss about on our own on the sea of life..
