No worries here as an expat for over 3 years. I'm more concerned about my family in the US.

What about the "missing hiker" found on Maui after she went missing 2 weeks? Many travelers also are of the "ugly self-entitled Americans" type. They show no respect to the locals and that paints a big target on them if they piss off the wrong person.

It would be interesting to see how many of these Americans died because they didn't get any proper vaccinations for regions they're travelling. I get tested for TB every year and had all my vaccinations (Hep A/B, Encephalitis and Meningitis). Food poisoning is also more common due to the different health codes compared to the US.

Not to worry, all those foreigners flooding across the US Southern border are bringing all the once eradicated diseases back to the US. I hear typhus is reaching pandemic levels in shithole LA.

Research in the Journal of Infectious Diseases (2006) provided evidence that L. pneumophila, the causative agent of Legionnaires' disease, can travel at least 6 km from its source by airborne spread. It was previously believed that transmission of the bacterium was restricted to much shorter distances. A team of French scientists reviewed the details of an epidemic of Legionnaires' disease that took place in Pas-de-Calais, northern France, in 2003–2004. Of 86 confirmed cases during the outbreak, 18 resulted in death. The source of infection was identified as a cooling tower in a petrochemical plant, and an analysis of those affected in the outbreak revealed that some infected people lived as far as 6–7 km from the plant.[27]

Symptoms
Legionnaires' disease usually develops two to 10 days after exposure to legionella bacteria. It frequently begins with the following signs and symptoms:

Headache
Muscle pain
Chills
Fever that may be 104 F (40 C) or higher
By the second or third day, you'll develop other signs and symptoms that may include:

Cough, which may bring up mucus and sometimes blood
Shortness of breath
Chest pain
Gastrointestinal symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea
Confusion or other mental changes

Chlorine

Have you guys read anything about it? It's definitely poisoning. The survivors say that after returning from a time-share presentation where they decided not to buy, the room smelled like strong paint and they began with stomach cramps, burning eyes, etc.

It is definitely poisoning. But, its one specific resort in the Dominican Republic.

Also, some of the tourists consumed a beverage from the room minibar before becoming suddenly ill. Scores of people who traveled to the Dominican Republic in recent years have reached out to Fox News with accounts of having fallen ill after having a beverage from their room minibar or buying one elsewhere in their resort.
