The video AC 7010 posted here explains that they may well have had it before reaching Fiji, meaning wherever they had been, plus flights with recirculating air - if it is ebola, now hundreds of people, literally, considering their travel, airports, airplanes, and wherever they were before arriving at the airport may have sickened others.

We may well see an epidemic here - it's coming across the border, as well. TPTB will always do whatever possible to avoid telling the public anything that would cause a panic, meaning they'd rather a million of us were exposed to ebola than to have the whole country in an uproar. That's a terrible thing, but I believe every government does the same.

Been saying for some time that we all have to have our N95 or N100 or P100 masks, nitrile gloves, and eye protection such as goggles, ready to use at a moment's notice. If it comes here, it will be necessary for the well to shelter in place, so we all need to have supplies in hand for a matter of several weeks, if not months. At least, that's my plan and I hope the plan of many others.

When populations were at hunter-gatherer levels, they were less in number and could just move to find clean water, etc.

As soon as people stayed in one place, with the discovery of agriculture (no one really knows how that happened), public health measures became an issue.

Cities are nightmares of public health menaces, that only became less with engineering.

There is no set rule to Ebola, the “strains” change every outbreak. This is not the same Ebola as the the outbreak a couple years ago in Liberia. When the virus changes so does the symptoms, mortality rates, etc.
