Oh trust me, we know, that article isnt even up to date. After they said no, they opened up the local sports arena and are preparing to house hundreds of them.

The hubby won't be stopping anywhere in Portland except his work, and it's a secure facility, where his coworkers are bugged out about this as well. half the state is in an uproar over them coming here and most don't even know about the ebola risk.
We've Thousands of somali refugees in two major cities here, and everyone except the progressives are horrified at the drain on our services that are already happening.
Portland is trying to get everyone else in the state to pay to house and feed the invaders. We're a moderately poor state, but the second highest taxed.

Tell your husband no stopping for gas or anything, no atm, milk, a sandwich, NOTHING while anywhere near one of those towns. Are you sure they are kept in those two towns? I'd be so ready to shelter in place - what a hideous mess. And just think how those people are going react to your winters! Joke's on them!

I'm so sorry that mess is dumped on your state and within spitting distance of you-all! I'd be sheltering in place already, I think. Bad news indeed.

Thank you, he's already been given the outline of only filling up for gas near our house in the boonies and no stopping for anything.
So far its only that one town, its just that the second place has a decent sized muslim population as well and I'm expecting the transfer between the towns.
I'm not quite ready for sheltering in place, however with the exception of the hubby we only leave the house like 1-2 times a week and usually within a 10 mile radius.
They just got here so there is a window of space with the incubation period. I topped off our bleach supplies and added a second size of gloves. I'm deliberating on how much chicken food to stock up on. I can get 5 or more bags delivered.

It will be a matter of months, rather than weeks, in my estimation, once we "go to ground" and have to stay there. Don't know how big your chickens' appetites are, but I'd prep for the long haul, unless you expect to eat a lot of them, lessening the amount needed markedly.

Wish I were half as well prepared as you! It's far better than it was, even three months ago, though. I'm grateful for that! Did get water put away - not enough, but quite a bit. Have more buckets now - just have to find a place to put them if I fill them. Working on it.

I have some bananas that are almost to the mushy state, and am planning to mush one banana per bag, and freeze them, hoping power remains, because apparently a smart thing to do is soak oatmeal overnight - water or milk, and eat it cold or hot in the morning. So I'm thinking one mushed banana in the oatmeal as it soaks overnight, and in morning it should be banana oatmeal, no? At least it's worth a try. I buy bananas by the bunch because that's how my discount grocery sells them, and I don't eat the entire bunch before they get too far south.

Wow Pooka... I dont buy bananas all that often, but when I do, they never last long enough to go bad. The wife & I LOVE peanut butter and banana sandwiches!

I've been following this post, and I wanted to say I appreciate that people are trying to keep up with the latest information and let others know. Measles being code for ebola is really scary, but just like our government to lie in order to prevent panic and all. The way those Congo refugees are being shipped to different towns all over the US is absolutely criminal. It certainly looks like they want an epidemic in this country!

One thing I wanted to mention, there's been some people who have been saying it's just a black disease, white people are immune. That's not the fact at all. I think they get the idea from studies done proving that the CCR5 Delta 32 gene mutation provides resistance to the HIV virus. They believe that this mutation developed back in the medieval plague days, and that it also enabled people to survive that sickness. There could be around 10%,or so of people with this gene mutation today. They say it's mostly northern Europeans who would have it. So, not all white people are immune. It's more like hitting a genetic lottery if you are. Interestingly, some researchers believe that the black plague was really a form of ebola.

The real reason for ebola breaking out is the ebola virus. Nothing else. The ebola virus erupts - for example the 2014 epidemic began with bush meat, a tradition there. I don't think we yet know the beginning of this particular epidemic, but rest assured it is caused by the ebola virus, not by the magnetic field or sun flares or anything else. Only the ebola virus can cause ebola.

Do we know for a fact that the interlopers each receive one K from Soros? I know people said that, some months ago, but I have never seen any proof at all.

Never mind the credit card - people do and will travel - and some of these new people no doubt have family or friends in other cities and states that they will visit or live with. Travel is a high probability - that is why I am so close to sheltering in place.

We won't get into politics here, nor amounts of money given to interlopers. Let's just stay with ebola - it's a large enough subject to occupy us without straying into off-topic matters.

watching her is like watching paint drying with "I wanna look sexy on youtube with my lingerie' - GAH - I watched anyway, information but will seek cliff notes for future reference.

If you find a source of Clif notes, please pass it on - I really cannot watch her, though I think she has good information.

I live alone, so there's just me, except one of my dogs likes bites of a banana I am eating, but that still is only one banana at a time. Glad to know you and your wife are keeping your potassium levels up!

I generally am not able to stand up long enough to cook, but you have tempted me mightily! I even have nuts to go in it, which I think improves it one hundred per cent.

If tomorrow is a good day, I will try to bake banana bread - we'll see what happens. Ever had it with lemon flavoring added? Makes it so much better - it's delicious!
