God has instructed that prayers be said in groups or in fellowship. They are more powerful that way. Yes, one can pray for guidance. It is best to pray in fellowship... Think of it as if 1 person yells across a mile long lake. It is barely heard on the other side. Now do that with a hundred people yelling in unison. It is heard more clearly on the other side of the lake... Now of course God can hear just one person pray, but it gives it more meaning when many pray...

My experience is that people don't do anything that commands them to do. But, always ask him to do whatever they want.
